Late Night Music Club with...oh just watch it and have a bucket ready.
I don't know if the showing of this video violates the Geneva Conventions or not but I would like to know if you have seen anything this hideous. Ever. Hopefully Australia won't decalre war on Canada-- or Las Vegas. But maybe I'm missing the point. Can anyone tell us something good about this performance?

thanks for warning me to have a bucket ready...not trying to talk any trash but who selected this trash?
jesus christ!! its worse than the pizza i got today!
Damn you! Was that really necessary? I'd rather be stripped, put in stress positions, have my genitals ridiculed, and be threatened by dogs.
Oh. My. God. Where to start? Celine? AC/DC?? Shudder!!!! There has been a tear in the time-space continuum that must be mended immediately. I could not make it farther than about 15 seconds into the clip. Excuse me while I run scrub out my eyes.
Ohhhhh noooooo, no way you'll get me that easy. The last time I clicked onto one of John's videos with a warning like that (curiosity killed the cat) I needed professional help.
why? ......WHY!?!??!!!
"Can anyone tell us something good about this performance?"
NO
Ohhh... I feel sick...
That's going to stay with me for a while.
You will be receiving a bill for my therapy sessions. ;)
I suppose Canada is glad to have her touring world instead of giving their children nightmares.
The terrorists have won.
i can tell you something good about this performance...it stops when i click the little button. thank you little button. bless you little button of stopping the bad lady. on behalf of canada, sorry. really sorry.
wow, that is really awful
there is no god
Well, it sure as hell doesn't raise my opinion of AC/DC at all.
Crass music for crass people.
The horror! THE HORROR!! I need to go find my back in black cd now!
Please, pull the crime scene I have witnessed out of my head...I already feel post-traumatic stress disorder kicking in...
It never really seemed right to me when AC/DC went on without Bon Scott. This was the first song I heard with their "new" singer and I refused to accept it for years. Shows you how stubborn I am. Oh and yeah, Australia needs to attack over this one.
so, why ever would i want to watch the video with that kind of lead-in?
i usually avoid anything that requires a bucket handy... i'll pass on this too...
Wow... I too thank ya for the bucket warning. One good thing about this Video? Uhhh, maybe it would be good as a morality tale that vain people are often the most ridiculous when they think they're 'all that.'
Here's something for all the '60s fans that have been posting the past few nights.. A cover song, sung by a woman that's all talent, rather than Image..
"Summertime" performed live on Swedish TV, by Janis Joplin:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzNEgcqWDG4
This is Hillary's new theme song!
Pardon me for disagreeing with you all, but I thought that was the best Celine Dion performance I've ever seen.
I'm no fan of hers, and hate her schmaltzy over-the-top sappy ballads, but this was actually fun to watch.
What's wrong with having a little fun? It's not like AC/DC are sacred cows or anything. Sometimes one should let down one's preconceptions and just enjoy, without having to always show how above it all you are.
I always wondered whatever happened to Meredith Brooks. She's pretty hot on that guitar.
But who is the blonde?
too late..... as a patriotic Aussie, I'm declaring my own war against the likes of this. Angus Young would roll over in his grave if he was dead...
Seriously, who were those 2? I hate to sound sexist, but they looked like 2 skanks.
Angus will make some money and the drums sound good. That's about all I could come up with.
We're old friends of Debbie's. I used to romp with her. Who are these 2?
As far as saying something good. Well they didn't fall down moving around in heels. That can't be easy.
P.S. Watched it to the end so I now recognize at least 1.
The only thing worse would be the muzak version of this song...
Who was the other woman singing with Celine? That was some awful stuff
I Am A Banana @ 25:
yeah, performed by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops
Anastasia was one, the other was celiene dion. Anastasia is a Fox.
Brian @ 26:
it was Anastacia
What the fuck??????
Well, Howie, if there's anyone out there who's like me they're laghin' pretty damned hard when they see this! That ain't too bad.
Dahgrostab'ph-r-i @ 1:
John forced my hand. He's a real dictator.
MarcInLosAngeles @ 18:
Thanks!
Brian @ 26:
Apparently her name is Anastacia who's bio on VH1 says:
Raised in New York City, Anastacia came from an entertainment-oriented family: her father was a singer; her mother an actress in musical theater on Broadway. Despite being diagnosed with the chronic intestinal illness...
There's a "more" button to this bio. But I really, really don't want any more...
This cover is a little better, but not much!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N_jlF-sRqk
As the saying goes: gag me with a spoon. Everything Celine Dion sings is
bucket material. Right up there with Barry Manilow. Listening to either of them
constitutes torture material.
blueseahorse @ 361:
I can't stand Celine, but I have a soft spot for Manilow. Sadly he's become a Vegas lounge act now, but he used to be very cool. She never was cool.
But what the hell do I know..apparently I'm the only one alive who thinks AC/DC, Iggy, Patty Smith, RHChili Peppers, and Dave Matthews are wretched.
ya kin hit "pause" and move along after laughing at her dubious "duck-walk" ala Chuck Berry,,,
The band sounded pretty good. Celine is too skinny to pull off anything that could be believed to be rock.
What a worthless, hideous skank. A pathetic waste of skin. You are required to love watching American Idol and want to be told how to think before you can truly relish Celine. Scum.
Terry C @ 355:
I'm with Terry. There's way worse stuff out there. I thought this was a fun beat. People were having fun. They weren't hurting anybody and nobody forced you to watch it. Let's focus our venom in more useful directions.
Mathilda @ 346:
Unforunate for me, I know exactly how you feel. You can't NOT watch a train wreck.
Let me add, as a balladeer, Celine has few equals. I'm sorry people are so offended by her misguided attempt to show a different side of herself.
You may not be missing the point, but you're missing the fun. That's the best use Celine has been put to since forever, she should tackle more hard rock hits, and if she wants to further explore AC/DC [aka ack-dack], I suggest their masterpiece 'highway to hell' and specifically 'get it hot' or 'girl's got rhythm'
More cowbell! More COWBELL!
It's not that the girl can't sing, it's just that she is so friggin' artless.
Nothing like a roots version of a classic song
One good thing?
That's easy:
COWBELL
Definitely not my thing but, jeez the original version was pubescent crap...
I've never heard such arrogant musical snobbishness.
I hear worse music every day.
I'd really like to hear what you connoisseurs, you arbiters of taste think is good and see what the rest of you think.
Thanks to the poster (somewhere in the 70's I beleive) for calling Celines singing partner, Antarctica--that made me chuckle. Then the You Tube video of Alannis Morisette doing my humps, or my bumps my lumps my pumps my gumps. Along with a very pretty voice--Alannis is one very funny lady. That was high-sterical.
I appreciate both of these singers in their natural "best" types of music. Neither one quite fits here, although I can understand them wanting to sing the material. Please, do what the rest of us do and save it for the shower or the car or on your own time.
The only good thing I can say about that is at least Celine isn't trashing my personal fave band The Clash. Seriously, could you see her attempting to do punk? Oh, the horror!
NOOOOOOOoooooooo!!
OK You wanted worse? Here you go...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=lUTw8osIopc
LMAO!!! Isn't that against the laws of nature???
a guy @ 378:
GAAAAAaaaaahhhhh!!
Oh, guy; u are a naughty boy.....
wow. i think i'd rather watch my mom take a shower.
is it weird that i want to vomit blood every time celine thrusts her hips or plays air guitar?
love the hi-fives tho. as if white people didn't suck already.
AAAaaah! Put cotton in my ears and throw bleach in my eyes!
the face of a Rat in spandex no less.
A true classic!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NN3MGN899yE This is really really REALLY bad........William Shatner ....Rocketman
sean @ 382:
Here's some caucasian suckiness for ya!
Dirk Diggler Frigin' Rules!
:D
Bad but not SHOCKING - typical Las Vegas stuff. The fact that they're doing AC/DC is as expected as well. I remember being 17 and listening to Cream's "I Feel Free" as a backdrop for the COUNTERCULTURE, locked and protected forever from my parent's world. Now it's a car commercial.
Of all the stuff my daughter now listens to now, I like Elliott Smith the most. He was on the 1998 Academy Awards show for his song "Miss Misery," which was featured in the movie "Goodwill Hunting." He was interviewed afterwards and said that he thought Celine Dion's music was the most "trite" he had ever heard, but that when they were both backstage she treated him very kindly and he thought that this was more important than the fact that her art sucked. Something to think about.
Okay, I must apologize as a Canadian for this abomination! How dare this woman (we've unfairly unloaded on the US) attempt to cover a classic like this! No need for Australia to declare war on us though. We'll take her out to the woods and, with the help of a pair of hockey sticks, straighten her out. Alright, I shouldn't suggest violence even against Celine Dion. I just hope she does us all a good favour and goes away really soon!
Canada has Celine, USA has Bush, and both have tons of fans.
Is this western society even WORTH saving??? Anarchy might yet become the only solution...
Robert1014 @ 338:
I would rather hear Brian Johnson sing "My Heart Will Go On." than hear Celine Dion sing ANYTHING.
Now *THAT* was a troll! Nice job, C&L.
I got about 10 seconds into the clip and I can honestly say I'd rather slide down a fresh razor blade naked into a pool of lemon juice than watch the rest.
The terrorists have won.
alex milstein @20-
What’s wrong with having a little fun?
I dunno...What would be wrong about havin' the Shrub cut the ribbon when they open the new ACLU hq?
ARE YA FUCKIN' KIDDIN'?!?!
There is a special place in hell reserved for Celine. That and Britney's "Satisfaction" cover qualify as war crimes.
That was awesome. Next time could you just fart in my mouth?
Howie, you need a big time kick in the ass for this one!
Brian @ 26:
Roland says it's Taylor Dane. It scares me he would know that
The subatomic particles composing my body are struggling to maintain their will to live.
GonzoD @ 39:
I'm waiting for you to come up with something worse
Ya see, all it took was a little patience, Celine Dion and some chick named Anastasia did an AC/DC tune....wait.....WHAT?!!!!! Shit now I've gotta' watch it for myself.
that's hot
Listening to "Highway to Hell" right now...sanity starting to return...almost there....OK
that was the funniest thing i have ever seen...what made it funnier is that dion and anastasia were really serious
now how about some classic ac/dc
let there be rock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNwN3rSrvaE
and these guys werent serious....that is what made it fun
strawberry @ 43:
Is that what it's going to be tonight? Who can post the worst song?
frist.
Talk about puttin' the ACDC version to shame! All hail Celine! You rule!
Good things: Anastasia is hot; Meredith Brooks; the mental exercise of forcing myself to hear the original version over a stage-skipping Celine Dion (exercise is good); the audience, for better or worse, did enjoy themselves.
Now, if you want to hear some really, really anguishing music, check out VH1-Classic's Top40 Soft Rock songs. The main reason it was so gawd-awful was not the music itself, but the realization that at one point in your life, you would have thought that some of the songs were absolutely wonderful.
I'm a musiciian.
It sounded great. The singing was great. Celine Dione can sing the blues...(rock) I don't know who the other person is.....
The guitar solo was weak...other than that...how could it be bad with top flight musicians....
Celine Dion may be a vegas act....but she knows how to sing....c'mon listen to the stuff on the radio....most of the singers are not able to sing without engineering.
Celine Dion can sing
They made fun of Tom Jones....Tom Jones can sing the shit out of the blues.
So Howie...you are just being a conderscending musical wannabe if you think this performance...which is chock full of humor....was bad
Respectfully, you people are all full of shit! If that was Tina Turner on that stage doin' the same song, I'll bet she wouldn't get this kind of reception.
I didn't fancy the video either. Not one bit.
But I have seen, much, much worse... and so have you!!
It was in tune.
It ends...eventually.
It's her last year in Vegas. She'll be coming soon to a city near you.
So, it's Celine Dion and somebody I don't recognize covering an AC-DC song.
Two crap performers covering a crap song by a crap band. What's the big deal?
Simon White-Thatch Potentloins @ 400:
c'mon- are you fuckin kiddin me??? how could you possibly compare the two- tina blows celine out of the water! WAY out of the water! her cover of proud mary wasn't anything like this, and at least it was up her alley, unlike this piece of shit. just look at the list behind tina- she had the beatles, ray charles, janis joplin, elton john, david bowie on her side, she influenced the rolling stones for pity's sake! celine had the fuckin titanic. and yeah, i woulda sunk too. i woulda drowned myself.
to sum it up: Tina- cool; Celine- tool. not to mention underdorky.
yes, i've seen worse, but even still, THIS is definitely enough to make me lose my lunch...
oops- underdorky should be UBERdorky. don't know where "under" came from...
I was really nauseated and needed to vomit--she was just the ticket. Thanks! Repulsive Incorporated.
sean @ 382:
that sums it up.
this is the best comment. should be the caption for the original post.
"Can anyone tell us something good about this performance?"
Uh... it finally ended???
Thanks for giving me fuel for nightmares for the next few weeks...
I'm with you on this. I'm no fan of hers either but she does what she does rather well, I just dont like the style. This is certainly more entertaining than her usual performances. I would rather hear her doing AC/DC than Britney Spears or Clay Akin.
Is this going to be "who can pick the worst video" thread?
Evidently, nobody seen the great air guitar work!
"Can anyone tell us something good about this performance?"
Yes. At the 4:23 mark it was over.
Is this world really worth saving when this talentless bitch can still fill stadiums with paying customers?
DownWithTyranny @ 42:
See how much that screwed me up? I quoted the wrong comment!
Is that what tonight's contest is going to be? Who can post the worst song, or version of a song?
I hate you.
People paid to see that.
People looked forward to that show all day.
That show was in Vegas.
We are doomed.
(when she did the hip thrusts, I put out my eyes)
Thanx.
This shame for Canada ALMOST surpasses what Bush is to the US.
Our national tv network had a Canada wide poll for the Top 10 Canadians in which the man who invented our universal health care topped the list.
An unscientific poll, done by a history mag, put the DoucheBag PM Trudeau at the top of the top 10 WORST but.....
Hannah wasn't the only singer on the Top 10 list. Celine Dion snagged seventh position.
Abortion activist Dr. Henry Morgentaler finished third behind Trudeau and Hannah.
Two other former prime ministers - Brian Mulroney and Jean Chretien - were Nos. 4 and 8, respectively, while current Prime Minister Stephen Harper came in at No. 6.
Schoolgirl killers Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka were a joint choice halfway down the list.
Child murderer Clifford Olson and disgraced publishing magnate Conrad Black rounded out the "winners."
'nuff said
Oh. Dear. Lord. This CAN'T BE HAPPENING.
Thanks, I s'ppose, for introducing me to a new experience: Envying the deaf, or the dead.
As for redeeming qualities ... I WAS going to say that the band was good and there was a decent guitar solo, but the dude (?) made a hash of the second chorus. Besides, he was playing Angus on a STRAT, for Pete's sake! That's like having red wine with fish!
Well, the band was good. Whatever they're being paid, it should be doubled, at least, just to compensate them for enduring things like this.
alex milstein @ 20:
The blonde is Anastacia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anastacia
Popice @ 38:
I HATE when that happens.
Maybe I’m missing the point.
Why post this? There are endless horrendous videos of awful attempts at music. Why single this out, and then post it no less. Shall we have an evening of posting Air Supply and Bee Gees videos, just to point out embarrassingly bad performances? No, why would we waste our time with bad music. And why are you?
Bad medicine, me no like.
I win. Period. no contest.

Howie just can't get his mind off hits. That's the problem. It's almost like he was a record exec at some point. Is there anything wrong with that? Well, yes, because you always think in radio terms, honey. Not in music terms. Try thinking outside the Top 40 block and see what really moves you. Like perhaps:

Saying this wrong just isn't enough.
you guys want a worse performance???

Hey! THat was excellent! There was Highway to Hell video with Bon in it. I listen to about ten seconds of the crap in the original link before I noticed it but; yeh. Angus sure looked Young ;)
I agree with #20 alex. It was fun and actually a pretty good version of what's a cheezy song in the first place. I liked the heels, and I liked Celine's entrance with the queer wavy sleeves and the little kicks! And the band was very strong. I can think of many performances worse than this one.
Howie, Howie, Howie...if you dislike Celine Dion that bad then why would you want to post this? Lets get to the real issues please.
http://www.68sscamaro.com/Carrinton.wmv
Hey, it coulda been worse. It coulda been Nancy Sinatra and Pia Zadora.
The audience eats this up. The audience saves for a year, goes to Vegas, and thinks they're getting art. This is the same audience that votes. This is the same audience that worries over people who dont speak English taking their jobs.
This is what happens when kids are deprived of art classes. God knows Celine didn't get them. She started singing in PQ bars when she was 12. I dont think Dion even finished high school. It's debatable whether she even understands the English she sings. Pour les Quebecois, however, this IS how you entertain Americans. This IS American taste.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbog0CxPWsE
The celine hip thrusts were rather skeletal, but reading the comments made my day- funniest stuff I've read today.
I gotta feeling Celine and Antarctica...or whatever the other one's name was...heard the same thing from the stage hand after that number that Krusty the Clown heard after his dismal onstage performance.
Stagehand: Krusty, 5 minutes!
Krusty: What are you kidding? I ain't going back out there!
Stagehand: No, you've got 5 minutes to get your things and get out!
alex milstein @ 20:
I could not agree more this kicked major ass!!! I have never liked celine now i think she has a new direction. I have seen much worse: try any cas haley performance. This just goes to show their are sheeple on this site who obviously can not think for themselves. Even my wife who has never heard of AC/DC liked this performance. I did not know celine could be that balsy and i loved the other singer as well whoever she is.
#70 Paul--you ought to check out Nancy Sinatra's version of These Boots are Made for Walkin on YouTube--the color version with the backup up singers. It is totally awesome!! To each his/her own.
I should have vacuumed the dust bunnies because my jaw just dropped right into a herd of them.
I don't feel I need to justify my musical tastes to anyone...and,
I liked it.
Probably doesn't count since it's not a video. Pat Boone Enter the Sandman.
But really, did somebody lose a bet or something at C&L?
Ed @ 78:
A new direction? I'll believe that when she punches out a cop or od's on smack. Until then: cheap gimmick!
O Canada
We stand on guard for thee
WOW...I think they just failed the audition for hosting a network special.
From a different perspective, about a minute in I began to think, "there is something eerily familiar about this." At two minutes in it hit me: she's singing this just like a republican gives a speech - they hit the notes but underneath it has no soul.
MarcInLosAngeles @ 74:
that was good. very very good. But I have the big guns....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M789kRvbziM
That's right...I trumped your Spock with John Ashcroft.
Must agree it was the best Celine Dion performance I've ever seen. (Thank god this is the only one!)
krome @ 62:
Shriekback, nice!! They were a totally under-rated band. Here's another one, The Chameleons: Swampthing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC5gANqdcOE
Btw, the Video is fanmade.. I posted this for the Music, not the Images.
LOL! Yes! I'm SO ready for grocery store moozac! Please have you cat bury that thing properly.
Ed @ 78:
I know somebody whose going to Vegas.
The band was OK, and it was a hoot watching a song from a group that once was considered "too hot" to watch by the young ones being performed in Vegas to a bunch of idiots. At least sing the song straight up... what was up with Celine spreading her legs and moving around like if the were Ricky Martin?
I concur with a previous poster that the dolts who eat this up are the ones that vote the idiot vote.
The only really, really good thing I think can come out of this is if Angus and AC/DC sing the Titanic soundtrack their way!
If they had "made a meal" out of each other on stage, this would be the best performance ever.
There would be nothing bad to say about this video.
If the band was OK why did the solo suck so bad and the music sounded like shit?
ok...
someone's gotta do it... guess I'll take the bullet...
Celine is a great singer... but she has lousy taste... I remember her as a kid from Quebec who could blow the windows out of a hall... she has amazing power... and that weird 'slapping herself of the chest' thing?... that was a trademark of her 'cracking the plaster' overdrive... honestly, I wish to all things holy and devoted to artistic beauty that Celine has remained a small girl with a huge voice instead of a Vegas act and a creature of handlers and agents and the creepy side of performance arts...
if I can I will post some earlier clips of her... then you can see what was... and then judge...
for the record? I was disgusted by this clip too.
willyloman @ 86:
Bwahahahahahhaha....oh god, not the eagle soars!!!! Oh God!
Something good? Much like pounding my head against a brick wall it felt good when it stopped. Apologies to Australia from the Great White North. It may be merely a tu quoque but, in our defense, what about Brittany?
