Late Night Music Club with Blink
I just get all breathless when I look at this clip-- even it is a year early! Blink-- later Blink 182-- come from the area where northern San Diego County meats southern Orange County: Duke Cunningham territory. Although they got together in 1992, it wasn't for another 5 years that they broke through with Dude Ranch which was followed in 1999 with the 12 million selling Enema of the State (with Janine Lindemulder on the cover). And the following year they put out a live album, The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show: The Enema Strikes Back which had one studio song-- this one:

The King is a Fink!
All the small things!
"San Diego County meats southern Orange County"
ooops
leave out the autobography and the late nights would go much better
booooooooooooooooooooo!
Hssssssssssssssssssssssss!
There are rocks to crawl under. Feel free.
Sorry, just thought that may be important?
Sepultura - Old Earth
This is the music I like and the game I like to play while listening to it.
I am anti-War , tho, :P

I think it's speacial Hard rock, the softer side.
I watched the smoke, as it grew darker and blew up through the ruff
I watched the fed, saw them panic, as the fire grew
I saw Virginia, get rid of langley, and its secrets too
I held your hand, and sat there knowing, that we would make it through
I like the political content of the video.
I'm not much for suburban skateboard punk-pop stuff, tho.
Actually, that would be "suburban, skateboard, shopping mall punk-pop stuff"
great imagry, shame about the poor quality sound :)
Really got me thinking.
Long time fan and what are the details of the typical C & L reader.
I'm 47 with two teenage kids and this music is over my head.
Howie, you're scraping the bottom of the barrell lately!
Adam's Song was their ONLY good song and even that was mediocre.
Fact is these guys are only fit to be adored by 12 yr old girls and even they know it.
here's a great track too keep the party movin:)
Leftfield feat. Africa Bambaata - Africa Shox - <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvxbFWY2Hsc"
I listened, as I'm sure I would like it, but I can't understand a freakin' word sung.
What is this junk doing here? I didn't know the demographic was for fat middle aged former music industry types eyeing little boys with bad intent, ala The Back Street Boy hey Howie?
blink is bubblegum punk
how about something from an innovator and real creative genius
les paul and mary ford
how high the moon

i am left breathless at the low standards of kids nowadays...
.
Who cares how many records they sold? You mention it as if it validates them somehow, gives them credibility. Would you still put up this clip if they had sold only 20 records? Because the truth is: there are literally a million bands just like these weak kneed posers. Dreck is dreck: no matter how many records sold.
Corporate Punk. Gimme my Clash!
So they are promoting excessive alcoholic consumption, ending political corruption, and never wearing shirts? Didn't they jump on the anti-bush bandwagon a little late?
Not only were they late, they supported Bush for years until it wasn't cool anymore. Fucking twats....
Blink has broken up as of some time ago. They split into two factions and formed separate groups (Angels and Airwaves, and +44). The split happened, essentially, because one of the members didn't like being in a band perceived as corporate punk. They did make some idiotic decisions as a band that I don't completely respect, but I wasn't aware that they were ever pro-Bush.
While they're not perfect, there's a lot of really beautiful sentiment in Blink's music, and I treasure some of it as part of the soundtrack to my youth. Then again, when it comes to any band, I focus more on the music and lyric than anything else (publicity, drama, politics). And I do enjoy a lot of diverse music, so it's not like I limit myself to acts like Blink. It was just part of growing up in late 20th century suburban America, so I naturally have a slight fondness for it.
I'm embarrassed that my favorite blog posts such terrible, terrible music. I grew up listening to this for a couple years, and unlike Doo Doo above me, I have no fondness for this shit.
Just FYI, Howie, at thee OC/SD border, we're in Issa country; Cunningham was several miles to the South.
Issa's rotten, too, but he's no Cunningham.
Sorry, Howie. You lost me on this one. I can be down with pop-punk if it's actually good, but Blink 182 is a joke.
Whoa!
Blink 182?!!!
What the hell is going on around here?!!!
Stop consulting your 12-year-old daughter, please!
OK, look.
There's this guy named Greg Cartwright. He fronts a band called the Reigning Sound. Used to be in some other bands...Oblivians, Compulsive Gamblers.
Brilliant songwriter.
Remember when we had those?

They're from my neck of the woods and I love 'Blink', besides, it was quite thrilling when my teenaged daughter's taste turned to Blink from an almost intolerable steady diet of ....
(turning green at the the memory here)
The Spice Girls
blink is awesome. Had they not gotten so huge they probably wouldn't get so much venom from folks. However, that was the case and the haters will have their say.
Fuck em, ManOverBoard is awesome!
