Late Night Music Club with Black Eyed Peas
A couple nights ago Gekke requested some Black Eyed Peas. How about this one-- my favorite Peas song, "Where is the Love" from their 2003 breakthrough album, Elephunk? It hit #1 almost everywhere in the world (except in the U.S., where he just managed to eke out a top 10-- despite the presence on it of Justin Timberlake).
The winner of our Aswad contest was Bill W. Congratulations, Bill-- and thanks for everyone who entered.

first!

not really a fergie fan, sorry.
The fugees have always been one of my favorites, and I guess I see the Peas as being the natural progression of that vein.
here's a fairly recent clip of the fugees that I'm sure will make you smile :)

Don't worry about me. I'm okay. I was just lookin' forward to 4 1/2 days in Tempe. Now I'm soooo looking forward to spending the first weekend in February in cold and snowy West Michigan. yay.

Not Tempe- Glendale! The city of my shattered dreams...
One of The most powerful comments on the last 7 years and.... the last 2000 years ever
recorded. A Spiritual Anthem that All the World should Listen to every month of every year, until there are changes here on this rock of chaos.....Brilliant Peas!
why care so much about who the group is? the song presented here is extremely positive, progressive, and uplifting. nice video too, and it's actually very powerful.
Andy K @ 20:
ah yes.....Balmy West Michigan..........I'd go fricken somewhere.....warm.....anywhere...
The Black Eyed Peas are pretty much the worst thing out there, truly awful. I will admit that I used to like their first two records, but when they put out the steaming pile that this song came from, they made a very conscious effort to sell out. Unforgivable, in my mind. I am embarrassed this is on C&L.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iwZ2KsncDM from his 2005 release...".So What's the Fuss"....Stevie Wonder.
Love your selections - welcome back from your break.... just wanted to say.
So war and hate is...bad? Who would have thought. Such a profound message. Blech...
yeah, thanks fergie, for ruining the BEPs...
...what the hell happened to these guys between 00 and 07?
sheesh.

John Stewart passed away two days ago. This is a guy who had a great ride, first as a member of the Kingston Trio, then as a singer songwriter covered by the likes of The Monkees and Anne Murray (Daydream Believer) and numerous luminaries in Nashville. Then he got a major career boost in 79 when Lindsay Buckingham produced "Bombs Away Dream Babies" and got him a gold record for "Gold". He was a lifer and played music because he had to. He was still gigging as late as this last summer. This is a video of him doing "Gold', backed up by Fleetwood Mac.

Howie, or John, perhaps you could feature this. John was a good guy.
Sorry, that was his backup band, miming the record. Still, it kicks ass.
Fergie? Horrible, horrible.
I loved it. Thanks!!!
