C&L's Late Nite Music Club with Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch
By Howie Klein Monday May 26, 2008 10:00pmUnless you're a real country music fan-- or Australian-- you may never have heard of Kieran Kane. Your loss-- and it's about to end. Although Kieran got famous after he moved to Nashville, he's originally from NYC. His biggest successes were as a songwriter (think Alan Jackson's "I'll Go On Loving You") and as half of the duo The O'Kanes (think of the #1 song, "Can't Stop My Heart From Loving You"). More recently he's a solo artist and the owner of music collective Dead Reckoning, on which he releases all his albums now. Late in 1999 he and Kevin Welch performed in Australia, where they were wildly successful and recorded 11/12/13: Live in Melbourne which was released in 2000. "Four Questions" is my favorite song from that record.

Good evening, all. That was very nice, Howie, thanks.
aggghhhh, I am sorry to say this, but my ears are bleeding ;)
It is country music, which I don't listen to, but it was a better form of country music than the usual fare. And I like to be polite at all times... :-)
i love Kieran's solo "Dirty Little Town" with Lucinda & Emmylou doing background vocals. great song.
That was a nice song. Here's my contribution to the evening of music.
A 15 year old song about the gulf war from Canada no less.

Have a good evening folks.
RD, wow. I love Moxie Fruvous so much! Outstanding.
Hi, this is Heretic's Alternate Late Night Music Club. Oh, man, why didn't someone tell me about MGMT??? This is just a beautiful, mournful, wise and jagged song with. They might sound a bit like like Britpop, but they're straight out of Brooklyn. Oh, and they belong to THIS decade. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=TkRI1oeca50
Love Kevin Welch. His "Life Down Here On Earth" always makes me happy and that entire CD is a gem. And I'm not a country music fan, particularly.
Big Kevin Welch fan here, too. Glad he's big in Australia!
That's good, reminds me of Gillian Welch a bit oso.
Very organic and wholesome.
Pick up a uke and DIY. I am not a uke dealer, nor do I play one on TV.
