Ah, yes ... that was a mighty fine song. Thank you, John !

Huge Jack Johnson fan here. This is a great song. It's off his new album. Everyone should get a copy of it. It's even got an anti-war song on it, "Sleep Through the Static". Thanks for posting this John.

C&L has been my favorite blog for some time now.
I have mostly read, lurked, laughed and GREATLY enjoyed the music and musical musings that have arisen. I greatly respect John Amato for taking some music success and "giving back" as it were in a manner I believe does right by the principles this country was founded upon. Now, in a shameless act of self-promotion and in lieu of many things I would have posted here - If I hadn't gotten myself so tied up in writing my songs - I'm going to flog the CD that has had as part of its inspiration SO much of what these turbulent times have made me want to express:

Please forgive me if this comes across as crass. My intention is not to insult or annoy - I just think some of my politically like-minded brethren may ALSO dig my (occasionally very political) music and I'm looking to recoup some production costs. Thanks for the great blog and a chance to express! Feel free to delete me if I'm out of line here.

Diggin the grooves from Jack. Good choice!

Hey dude, hit me on Sacxtra with a video and I will air you.

I don't have production costs, just a few videos on YouTube put together with some of my song tracks. Live recordings, just me on my trusty one-owner 1973 red Guild:

All I ask is that people leave comments for me there and by all means, share the songs you like!

Currently doing the (hopefully last draft) of my Master's Thesis on how today's protest singers are directly descended from the Celtic bards in their speaking-truth-to-power mode.

[Deleted. Flamebait. Dude, just...stop it. Please stop it. Thank you. Site Monitor]

Phil / Sacxtra dude -

I have tried to email you TWICE from my comcast account and from my yahoo email account.
The emails won't go through and the YAHOO attempt kicks back w/ a link to some Non-profit organization SPORBS (!?!?) containing a lot of smug, impolite "go ahead and sue us for not sending your email through - we CAN block it and we don't care!" verbiage in the FAQ section of their site. I don't have time nor energy to determine why the mighty comcast and yahoo mail servers are flagged as harboring spammers and don't feel particularly obligated to go through the steps of clearing their names. I'm just a musician who wanted to have a nice email conversation - is THAT too much to ask? Apparently so. Hope life treats you good...
Oh, and lastly: I respect the right of the flamer to hate on my band. He's entitled to his opinion and has to live w/ the inadequacies he's projecting onto others. I'll still be at peace w/ myself (Hell - I EVEN wrote a song about that!) no matter how badly my band sucks...
Best to you too, bro! Hope you find your joy somewhere. Peace All.
