Great, great band. Grohl is pretty much amazing. Their stuff translates to acoustic so nicely. Current fave is an acoustic cover of Arcade Fire's Keep the Car Running

FF's are incredible...I'm thinking of doing a New Music nite in the Club. I've made a new website for the LNMC. When the new C&L goes live soon, it'll be up. I'm looking for some music bloggers too...
These guys really suck. Whenever the drummer in my band picks up the guitar we have to hog tie him back to the drum stool. If Dave Grohl wasn't in Nirvana he would still be playing drums and not writing and singing mediocre dated sounding music. It kind of makes me long for the hair bands that Nirvana killed off. At least they didn't take themselves too seriously

Ignoring the fact that you are a troll...
Dave Grohl did every part of the first Foo Fighters album. There was no band, it was entirely him, on every instrument. The guy is one of the rare true musicians, truely a multi-talented individual.
Considering how respected he is in the music world, amoung some of the greats(that he had the fucking awesome honor of playing with), Id say you are in a very small minority with your opinion.
StirFry, thanks for those links. I must confess, I've not seen those videos before and each one is creative and unique. This gal appreciates it very much.
Don't quite understand the anti-Foo sentiment going on here today, but whatever. These guys are far from mediocre in my book. One of the few mainstream rock bands I enjoy and would pay money to see live. Other bands from the 90's don't stand up anymore, while these guys still put out good music and their old work doesn't sound dated.
Check out an old DC hardcore band called Scream that Grohl played drums in before hooking up with Nirvana.

as has been stated already (and is widely known) Dave Grohl played the drums for Nirvana - he can do WhateverTF he feels like! Not to mention that I (and obviously a few others) think the FFs kick some ass. Best band ever? Nah, but my man Dave would get a pass if he needed one.
Accordng to Wikipedia, the band's bass player Nate Mendel was a HIV denialist. Through his influence, the band helped support a documentary and played a concert for the same "cause".
This was back in 2000. Wiki says that they've since scrubbed these organizations from their list of supported causes. Anyone know if the Foos are still pushing this crap?

Not entirely true - Greg Dulli of the Afghan Whigs played the drone guitar part on "X-Static". Still an impressive feat.
For the second album, Dave went into the studio and erased almost all of the drums that William Goldsmith had laid down and re-recorded them himself, all without telling him (at least until he fired him).

No he isn't in a small minority. The vast majority of the world has either never heard of them or don't like them either. And being a musician doesn't mean you have to like them, either. I've played the very stage that made Nirvana famous. Yes, the crowd was wowed. Yes, I hate the Foo Fighters.
A person can have valid opinions that differ from yours, or your assertions of the opinion of an unmeasured "majority", and still be taken seriously. Way to show your open-mindedness by immediately labeling dissent as trolling. Just because people don't like this band doesn't mean they are a troll. It means they have an opinion and are expressing it.
And Dave Grohl indeed would not be a solo artist with anything near his current exposure without Nirvana. Deny that all you want, "a majority" knows it to be most likely true.

What in the hell were they thinking?

Late nineties...good times.
A powerful song by the always fabulous Foo Fighters. A great musical choice this evening ! Thanks.
Great band and great song.

StirFry, what a cool and original music video that was. Most enjoyable. And the puppy got saved, too. Yay !
always in the mood for these guys
In 1969, a 14-year-old snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. This is the interview.
Saw the Foo Fighters this year. They really, really rocked.
That was my second time seeing them and they did not disappoint.
Excellent show.
Good question. Hope it can be answered by Nov.
skippy's got the foo fighters doing all my life.
M00
Alas, skippy, I can't get the video to play.

Sure, blame it all on Courtney. Just like Adam tried to blame it all on Eve. ;)

I respect guys who always wear black and stay so pale in the Austin, TX summer heat.

Saw them in Vancouver in March and then Tokyo two weeks later. I guess I'm a bit of a fan :)
Orangutan, how cool is that ... a 14-year-old Canadian kid gets to interview John Lennon. The animation in the video is brilliant.
We miss you, John, and everything you stood for. You will never be forgotten.
Thanks again, O !
What is Foo and why are they fighting it?
Jaime @ 20:
+1
Its sad that this crap is considered good. Maybe not so much a reflection on the band itself, but the lack of talent currently out there.

Not an average song. This is far better than my previous impression of FF. Thanks and keep 'em coming...
That's awesome. "Let It Die" happens to b the phrase I've used to describe the Foo Fighters entire project.
