This was another one of those "WTF was that?!" radio moments that made me pull the car over and jot it down.
Except instead of "car" substitute "in bed at some ungodly late hour between the soul's midnight and sunrise" and instead of "pull over" it was "wake up because I had dozed off with the radio playing."

Love Rage and Tom, but had an opportunity to open up for nightwatchman, kinda lame I gotta say.

Here's "Tin Soldier" by The Small Faces. It was the follow-up to "Itchycoo Park" and it should have put them over the top in the American market but it flopped, strangely. Maybe because of the final, defiant "All I want to do is sleep with you" or maybe because it had too many tempo changes. Who knows. It's excellent, though.

I agree, "Tin Soldier" is a great song! But I prefer a version done by a Canadian band called Streetheart. Check it out if you can find it; its a little more slick and streamlined.

Sorry, but Night Watchmen is a shameful embarrassment. The whole album sounds like that terrible college dorm-mate crooning again from his room. If he weren't Tom Morello, record companies wouldn't touch this pile of shite with a 10 foot pole.
