Late Night Music Club with The Carleton Singing Knights

Who among us has not lain awake at night wrestling with the burning question: "What could possibly improve Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"?

Turns out the answer is: 'The Carleton Singing Knights a capella cover of Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger".'

More of a command than a question, in my humble opinion :)

Hey Andy K. Hope you're staying dry tonight. It's a little soggy out there right now.

Sebastien Cabot

Peter G, I had to take my kid to his job, about an hour and a half ago, and it was the first time in three days I stepped outdoors without getting wet!

How are earth do you find this stuff? You'd have to suspect it's existence before searching.

A little cognitive dissonance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFR-8NVjw-k

Peter G, I had a friend (now deceased) who turned me on to that about 25 years ago. His dad had been a dj at some jazz station in the early to mid-'60's, and dad snagged some bizzare discs on the way out the door.

I actually have this record in my collection. My kid sister bought and gave it to me when she realized how awful it was. You should hear the "Twinkle twinkle little star" cut.

Here's something to think about: Cabot, Nimoy and Shatner appeared on NBC programs. I wonder if all three were on the RCA (or some subsidiary) label- RCA and NBC are (or were) part of the same conglomerate, no? IIRC, The Partridge Family, with the show on ABC, recorded for ABC's music division (Dunhill, maybe?).

The Swingle Singers

Mission Impossible Theme

Esquivel

Begs the question about what unreleased horrors are stored in their vaults.

Barbara (Stanwyck) Does Dusty (Springfield)?

Wow, Andy, you are on a roll tonight! You have presented so many fine gems from which to choose.

I especially liked The Americans bit with Gordon Sinclair and the funny stuff available on the sidebar. The Canada vs America cat video is hilarious.

ps, nice King Pleasure tune. Thanks C&L for lots of fun tonight, time for zeds now.

...zeds...

As if your name doesn't make it clear on which side of the border you make your bed. Save yourself the time of typing the "e" and "d" next time.

;D

Thanks again for making me blush and say, "Awww, shucks."

Haha. This is one of my alma maters! (At one point, we had six a capella groups on campus.) Better recorded copies of the Knighta are on their MySpace page, but I like hearing the audience here. Takes me back.
