Sunday Morning Talk
Let me know if there's anything clip worthy.
The Yanks won the division title today beating the Red Sox in Fenway 8-4. Cleveland has had an amazing year and if Boston loses tomorrow (which I doubt) there could be a Monday playoff game for the wild card. If Cleveland did make it in I wouldn't be surprised if they won it all. They remind me of the 02' Angels. The LA (yea it's wacky saying Los Angeles Angels) always give the Yanks fits and I expect Chicago's pitching could bother Boston....read on
Bob Bennett offended by Wolf Blitzer over Brother Bill
Yes, Obviously Wolf didn't clear the question with brother Bob about brother Bill's latest remark. Transcript
BLITZER: Have you discussed this issue with him?
BENNETT: Well, no, and, Wolf, let me say, I am rather disappointed at
you for not telling me you would ask me about that. This was about Judy
Miller, and I think that's a courtesy you could have extended to me.

BENNETT: I didn't know that at all, Wolf. In the past you've always been very straight with me. And I'm honest with you and I'm offended by that.
BLITZER: You are a good lawyer and a good brother and a good friend. Thanks very much for joining us.
It's probably fairly common to tell your guests what questions you might be asking or the subject that will be discussed, but it wasn't out of line for Wolf to bring it up in the interview. The outrage, oh-the outrage.
Raw Story: A lawyer who knows Mr. Libby's account said the administration efforts to limit the damage from Mr. Wilson's criticism extended as high as Mr. Cheney. This lawyer and others who spoke about the case asked that they not be identified because of grand jury secrecy rules....read on
John "Five in the Noggin'" Gibson's abortion lunacy
John Gibson put forth the most ridiculous idea I've heard defending Bennett's recent statements about blacks and abortion. He claimed that liberals don't want blacks to protest abortion because it would lower the voting block for the democratic party. You have to see this hack to believe it. Kirsten Powers jaw almost fell off.
Gibson: I think liberals are worried that blacks are going to start worrying about abortion...liberals don't want blacks thinking about abortion because they don't want those people peeling away from the support from abortion which is a liberal, sacred cow.
Powers: Are you saying black people don't have power because of abortion?
Gibson puts words and ideas into Bennett's mouth.
Powers: That's not what he's saying....he's tried to back away from it and say-oh-it was taken out of context...
He's at the same level as Mark Williams and Glenn Beck in the B-level talk show host scale who barely have an audience and it's amazing that FOX has this guy on the air at all.
There was a server crash that changed passwords and I was told and the site had to republish the whole blog again so I had to wait most of the day for it to come back up. Limited posts today.

Rumsfeld's Stupidity
You remember Donald trying to explain to our soldiers why they didn't have the proper armor when questioned in early Dec.
" You go to war with the army you have not the army you might want or wish to have?"
During a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee where he appeared with several Generals to discuss the state of Iraq and the training of their armed forces. (The Iraq forces are down to one battalion) Ted Kennedy said to Rummy:
"There are ''continuing reports that the Iraqi police and security forces we're training are substantially infiltrated by insurgents"
Here's his latest rationale about insurgents infiltrating the Iraqi forces:
''It's a problem that's faced by police forces in every major city in our country, that criminals infiltrate and sign up to join the police force."
Is he kidding me? What orifice does Rumsfeld pull these analogies out of? Check out the LAPD's website for becoming a police officer. Click here for background standards. For their website click here
THE DAILY DELAY: A site entirely devoted to the most corrupt politician in Washington.
King of Zembla: In the November Atlantic, Richard Clarke, counterterrorism chief under Clinton and (briefly) under Bush, raises the distressing possibility that Michael Chertoff is not the only one who has learned a thing or two from his mistakes. Terrorists have televisions as well.

Federal auditors said today that the Bush administration had violated the law by purchasing favorable news coverage of President Bush's education policies, by making payments to the conservative commentator Armstrong Williams and by hiring a public relations company to analyze media perceptions of the Republican Party. In a blistering report, the investigators, from the Government Accountability Office, said the administration had disseminated "covert propaganda" inside the United States, in violation of a longstanding, explicit statutory ban....read on"
Couple that with Kos: The Republican Culture of Corruption, and you have to wonder what President Bush was thinking when he said:
"We will not be paying commentators to advance our agenda. Our agenda ought to be able to stand on its own two feet."
Obviously he does have to pay for his agenda or else these illegalities would never have been necessary.
