Cornyn: "When I was looking this morning at one of the witnesses that's going to be testifying, that's selling a book and that is a convicted felon, it strikes me as very odd that the Judiciary Committee is giving an opportunity to somebody under those circumstances as part of their marketing efforts.'

One of Bill Maher's pet peeves is "the infamous seven minutes," that Bush sat frozen in the school after being notified by Andy Card that the nation was under attack.
On Real Time Friday night, Maher asked Rep. Dana Rohrabacher-if he wouldn't have criticized Bill Clinton for doing the same thing. Dana was paralyzed and left speechless. Question answered.
What a great tournament it's been so far. LSU scares me, but I'm rooting big time for UCLA. I never expected them to get out of the "sweet sixteen." They play great defense, shorten the shot clock and have plenty of big men to cover LSU's dynamic duo. They need to make their free throws which has made the last two games pretty ugly to watch. I'm also rooting for GMU.
"During my last night in captivity, my captors forced me to participate in a propaganda video. They told me they would let me go if I cooperated. I was living in a threatening environment, under their control, and wanted to go home alive. I agreed. Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views. They are not. The people who kidnapped me and murdered Alan Enwiya are criminals, at best.
They robbed Alan of his life and devastated his family. They put me, my family and my friends--and all those around the world, who have prayed so fervently for my release--through a horrific experience. I was, and remain, deeply angry with the people who did this....read on"
Welcome home Jill and take the time you need to recover.
CBS Evening News with Lara Logan featured Jill's release last night.
TMV reports: "Christian Science Monitor correspondent Jill Carroll's release did have a price a fee paid in the form of a propaganda statement she was ordered to videotape, her paper reports"
CSM: The night before journalist Jill Carroll's release, her captors said they had one final demand as the price of her freedom: She would have to make a video praising her captors and attacking the United States, according to Jim Carroll. In a long phone conversation with his daughter on Friday, Mr. Carroll says that Jill was "under her captor's control."
Joe Gandleman has a great round up.

James Taranto writes in the WSJ:
"The poll was especially good news for Ms. Busby's attempt to wrap up the race in the first round. Barely a week ago, a Datamar poll had her at 36%, but the left-wing netroots community led by MoveOn.org and Web sites like DailyKos have made a big push to help her win. -The irony, of course, is that Messrs. Kaloogian, Roach and Bilbray would each be a heavy favorite to beat Ms. Busby in a June runoff. But Ms. Busby appears to have a shot at pulling off an upset on April 11. A surprise Democratic win in two weeks would be seen, correctly, as a major warning sign for Republicans and could be the first tangible indication the GOP might be in real trouble in November....read on" (h/t Guy)
I'm not sure how important that poll is, but Busby really has a shot at winning this race. We need everyones help.

This is what he said on The Situation Room:
HEWITT: "No, that's not right, because talk radio, when you look at Rush, at Sean, at myself, at Laura Ingraham, Michael Medved, Dennis Prager, we all conduct ourselves appropriately on the air, or the FCC will smack -- smite -- smack us down.---So, I think what we have got is basically a monopoly on responsible new media on the center-right side, and talk radio is responsible new media, even though that fever swamp on the left, the Michael Moore-disease-ridden Democrats on the left, they don't want to admit that, so they won't. But, in fact, talk radio is quite responsible."
He's quite selective in his reporting which is nothing new. The fact that he says he starts from "the center" is laughable. Here's a quick example of the fine, responsible right wing talk radio:
Boortz: I saw Cynthia McKinney's hairdo yesterday -- saw it on TV. I don't blame that cop for stopping her. It looked like a welfare drag queen was trying to sneak into the Longworth House Office Building. That hairdo is ghetto trash. I don't blame them for stopping her...

Glenn Beck called hurricane survivors in New Orleans "scumbags," said he "hates" 9-11 families.
