Wow

JL is so great! I only knew her from Emergency! until about a decade ago. I've been listening to her a lot lately. Kismet?

and then they make breakfast and, if you're lucky, they whip up a little 'dessert' .... hah!

Wow, I didn't realize Julie London had such a fabulous voice.

Thanks, bluegal. I enjoyed that!

Perdido

Wish I could find her version of April In Paris (here by Billie Holiday, not as good as Lynne's version), though.

Gloria Lynne's Perdido is wonderful.

Love the combination of the sexy sax and Billie Holiday's voice in April in Paris.

Incredible and unforgettable!

Cry Me a River in the car today

I guess it's a Julie London kind of a day.

I love that one too.

She sang a commercial for Marlboro cigarrettes:
"You get a lot to light with a Marlboro -- filter, flavor, pack or box."
I can still hear that catchy tune.

Pretty cool.

I have a vivid memory of seeing Julie London at the pool of the Tropicana in Las Vegas in August of 1969. I was 8 at the time and we had just arrived from Los Angeles a few days after the Manson murders had happened.

I'm a midwesterner so it was a pretty big deal to me.

Thanks for the post.
