Late Night Music Club with Norah Jones

Title: Chasing Pirates

From her appearance on Later with Jools Holland. Lots of buzz about this album just out in time for holiday giving.

What new music is on your wish list this season?

Overrated.

Writes her on lyrics and music and comes from a tremendously gifted family of musicians.

Absolutely love Norah. Check out her duets with Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson.

is intended to be a factual statement

Great song. Thanks, bluegal!

I bought the album the day it came out. I like the album, but I think chasing pirates is the weakest track.

I'm going to pick up Bob Dylan's Christmas cd. I'm not a huge Christmas music fan, but I've heard his "Must Be Santa" track, and it has climbed up to the #1 spot on my Christmas music list (edging up over Mariah Carey's [yes, I know!] "All I Want For Christmas").

is Ray Charles' The Spirit of Christmas... this one in particular: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhxdQBFmDZ0&fe...

Enjoy!

Stevie Wonder... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIAUptphg2o&fe...

listen to the words and see how they hold true today, just like yesterday. WTF is wrong with we humans anyways?!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yOecqyWtvs&fe... Stevie Wonder singing Heaven Help Us All... we sure as hell need it!

but I'm hoping to pick up Tori Amos' new Christmas album! :)

I've never seen change without a fire

Love her voice and that's coming from a guy that really only goes for the guitar rock stuff for the most part. Crissie Hynde is about as girly as I normally play. :)

Not a Norah Jones fan but dig this song a lot.

I thought her last CD was a bit stale. She was looking for a direction.I think she found a good direction and seems comfortable in this setting. She's an artist that the music scene really needs after seeing the AMA awards-How pathetic was that. The most important story of the night was Ada lambert kissing a guy
not the music. We need more artists who are true to their music like Nora Jones

What's new on my wish list is actually old. I want that 3 disk dvd set on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Thanks for the Nora Jones. With manufactured stars lip syncing samples of other people's music, we need all the Nora Joneses that are out there.

Some old music - Blind Willie McTell by Mick Taylor

was excellent and (sort of) deserved the attention it got. Her 2nd one was - eh.

I haven't followed her career but I wish her well.

Beside all that, she's beautiful and a pleasure to look at. I'm liking her short 'do, too.

The voice, the look, the presence. God, she's gorgeous!!

I know good artists have to grow and change, but I doubt she would ever have become famous with material like this.

I liked it!

...seems like someone told Nora: "Your music and your production values are sooo low key. Why don't you try tarting both up a bit." And so she did. And so we get less of what I love about her. Sure, artists change. But I like it less when they respond to ideas and image and more when they respond to their muse.

Everything I was to do this morning is taking a setback as I search for and listen to her songs on the net. I love this lady and her songs. She is destined to be one of the all time greats. I’m glad I found her. Thanks people.

Does this song remind anyone else of "Suffragette City"?

Slideguy's picture

....the song needs a hook. It needs to break into a chorus or, at the very least, give us a bridge.

God, I sound like an A&R man. Remember them?

is from her publicist and her record company. Heard her on Nice Polite Republicans over the weekend and heard nothing that would make me part with $13.99.
