C&L's Late Nite Music Club with Nirvana

Title: Dumb
Artist: Nirvana

Taking the cue from Gordon ... It was 15 years ago tomorrow that I rode my bike past Kurt Cobain's house and knew there was something wrong from all the police cars outside. On my way home that night, the crowds had already gathered.

"Dumb" was always one of my favorite Nirvana songs, especially because I could see someone from Aberdeen writing it.

for posting this song tonight and also for your very interesting article.

Nirvana was truly one of a kind.

meh

"A mulatto, an albino, a mosquito, my libido..."

I'm surprised the gunshot wound killed him.

Wow 15 years, I remember getting the cd and I was 17. So I remember things well, music died everywhere that year. Metallica turned in to pussies.

I used to drive past there on my way to work and had no idea they lived there. That day I came around the corner and counted 7 cop cars and saw the Veca Electric truck. I thought "Hey! Somebody must've broken a nail, or it's a bad hair day," knowing the neighbourhood. I found a radio station talking about it, and it was just shocking.

I was heading home at midnight after doing sound support for a benefit aerobic workout in Bellevue when we heard the news on KIRO am just as I was on the off ramp from I-5 to Marysville. Very weird moment as the hair on the back of my head started to tickle me.

We had moved to Marysville in the fall after living on Lake Washington Blvd for 10 years and also drove past that spot almost every day.

... good zeds to all.

Kurt Cobain was partially formed by it and that groovy drug known as ritalin.

Thanks for giving me such a nice start to my day, sweetie :)

i'm an old guy now and i was an old guy then...41...but when i heard the news over my car radio, i had to pull over, i was so emotionally overcome, i couldn't drive.

i couldn't believe it, nirvana was one of my favs @ the time and still is. i hadn't been that affected by the news of the sudden death of a singer since john lennon was shot.

come as you are (unplugged)

and as a special bonus: doll parts by hole

I'm younger than you, skippy, 28 at the time...I can't say it was completely unexpected. Cobain always seemed to lean to the manic depressive.

Lennon's death absolutely shocked me, as did Joe Strummer's. But D. Boon of the Minutemen, in '85, sleeping in a van on the ride to his girlfriend's parents' home for the holidays, when the van rolled...That guy had so much more music, passion and energy in him. If he was still alive, I've got no doubt he'd be blogging here in the prog-o-sphere, beloved. I miss that guy.

I've always loved that unplugged CD... started buying Nirvana for my kid (he was 10 at the time) and ended up loving their music myself.

Cat had some great music... so did Donovan... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3rUmeS2swM
