Everything I click on of hers has been removed!
I have known of her for over a year now and she has done some very nice covers. She put all her songs on utube and now they are pulling them?
It looks like she got suspended.
My major complaint about YouTube is that they really have no clear cut rules for copyright violation. Sure, She's recorded herself performing other people's music. It's really beautiful. But it affects no one in a negative way.
I've uploaded over 80 original short comedy sketches to YouTube. Some are edgy so they've banned them from search engines. There's nothing dirty.
I've never made a penny off my sketches on YouTube. I'm sure they've made a bunch off my 4 million or so views.
They should change their slogan.
YouTube: We put the 'use' in 'user generated content'.

The video works for me ... that's a switch, eh! What a lovely song, driftglass.
Thanx for the Harrison tunes, lafin. Nice name misspelling (Harrinson) by YouTube. Sheesh!
Thanks driftglass. I needed that.
WOW. That so really, really nice.
At least they carry the tune. Next time how about not The Circle of Life and Amazing Grace? Where are the other writers of today?? Don't get me wrong, these folks get total snaps but isn't there anybody else out there with something inspiring and contemporary?
I've a song for Tracy Chapman and this same choir that would send "American" shivers. I'm just not connected and probably never will be. Anybody want to steal a song?; it’d probably be more productive.
but I think Ms Battle's song was a last-minute replacement for another that wasn't working. Let's not be too hard on driftglass & C&L.
Remember, it's a full moon ... expect the unexpected!

Battle's is the best voice ever to hit the stage. My guess is that the NY Phil got the stuff pulled from YouTube. They are entitled to royalties on these videos. Kind of archaic (and self-defeating) but as a union member I understand why. You'd have to be trying to make your living in music to understand.
Thanks you for posting this. Kathleen Battle is my favorite soprano. She has a natural sweetness to her voice that is so endearing. She rings out like a bell. Beautiful.
For posting this---I saw Kathleen live at Ravinia in Chicago last year--she is absolutely awesome.
i would bet that she herself requested the videos be taken down. there is a reason she is not heard very often in the United States - she's been banned from all of the big opera houses and it started at the Met in New York. James Levine, himself, requested that she be fired. she gives a new definition to the word "diva". she made so many demands, missed so many rehearsals, and did such outrageous things, no one in the opera world wants to deal with her. it's really kind of sad. we are denied the pleasure of hearing her voice because her ego is so big.
