Title: Get Steady
Artist: Oh My God

Why Oh My God, a Chicago-based organ/bass/drums/madman combo, isn't playing packed arenas is just one of those things I'll never understand. Once my old band opened for these guys in Kansas City, and they were so absolutely electrifying that when they were finished (after getting called for 2 encores by a screaming crowd of 30 at 1am on a Monday night) our drummer suggested that we all just stop playing music altogether because we'd never measure up.

Tour dates are popping up on their MySpace. Don't miss out.

Every Monday, C&L's Late Nite Music Club will feature an act from every state, alphabetically by state, as part of LNMC's 50 State Strategy. Know a band or artist that you think is the best in their state? Email suggestions to latenitemusicclub [at] gmail.com. Next week: Indiana.

"we'd never measure up"? Dam; your band must have really sucked! You said it, not I!

This song hit the college airwaves a few years back. It just bugged the hell out of me. Had to turn the dial as soon as I heard it. I just don't get this song, but obviously some people love it since they requested the hell out of it. Maybe they're a band you just have to see live.

Very impressive.

Somebody Wants To Love You

calgarylady: I posted this very late last night in the hopes you might check it out today- but in case you didn't...It's groovy!

Thank you, Andy! You are so very sweet :)

but almost every video I try to watch on C&L hesitates & delays, no matter if I let it stream first or not. If it's a You Tube video, I can view it fine on their site, but here on C&L I have this problem constantly.
I really really wanted to see & hear this video, but with the gaps, it's just not worth it.
Any ideas for a non-nerd as to why this might be happening?

And my PC is pretty old- like '01 or '02 Dell.

My 2 cents for Illinois:

Liz Phair - Chopsticks

Lupe Fiasco - Superstar

Local H - The Kids Are All Right

Rise Against - Thrash Unreal (Acoustic)

Some props to:
Wesley Willis - Cut the Mullet

And I'm a big fan of Smashing Pumpkins, but no need to link to any of their stuff.

Jim Ellison RIP

The Very First Lie

I've become a/an MGMT fan in just one week. I love those guys. They were The Management, but not they're MGNT. Not sure if you say the letters (MGMT) or 'management'. Their music makes me smile, plus I dig it.

This one is Hot Love Drama

I said the same thing after I heard The Dixie Dregs many years ago. The crowd was only about 100 people. What's worse is when Eric Johnson played the Georgia Theater in Athens the first time around...only about 30 people (all guitar players) jammed up against the stage for one of the best guitar players in the world. Sad--
