C&L's Late Nite Music Club with Shreds: Eric Clapton

Title: Shreds
Artist: Eric Clapton?

It was very hard for me to pick a favorite among all of these, but this one is absolutely sublime. More suitable for the first day of April than the last one, but better late than never.

Man

I wish my numbers went up to eleven for that clip.

Only his do. He's got specially made equipment.

......it makes him suck even better.

All hail Romeo Rose!

Sax

Hahahaha -- I love the bari sax sound coming out of David Sanborn's alto sax.

here's some clapton over @ skippy:

w/santana doing jingo

w/mark knopfler doing cocaine

and then, off subject but on time frame, in honor of the swine flu here's

the beatles - piggies

and queen - mad the swine

These have been around for a while. I love the EVH and Steve Vai ones......oh hell, they are ALL great.

I don't see anything in the usual space.

Clear your cache lately?

How do I do that, please?

Firefox, IE? Not sure about Macs.

IE 7, running Vista.

Go to the top of the screen, click Tools>Internet Optios> Clear Data(or something like that), then delete history and cookies (you'll probably have to sign back in at C&L after you dump your cookies). After you click on all of those and okay it, refresh your screen.

If I'm missing something, miss_kitty seems to be around. She's a pro at this kind of thing. :D

-- I know how to do that -- thanks!

because i rarely open the exploder.
good luck with that.
:D

Different than Firefox, but easy...if you remember what you're looking for.

From 1979

Really, one of the all time greats. People tend to be unfamiliar because the Clinton/P-Funk machine is known much more for its grooves, its tight team-playing, than its soloists.

How lame, Eddie Hazel's peak was......

Maggot brain man.

I peaked many times to Maggot Brain too!

For the uninitiated:

http://video.google.com/videosearch?client=fi...

try finding live footage of that. At least from back in the '70's. There's a clip from '83, but he's trading off with Michael Hampton (no slouch there, either), but I wanted something that featured Eddie.

:D

For the uninitiated...of course.

Playin it like he just learned his Momma died

(Mother Earth is pregnant for the 3rd time, for YAW had knocked her up!
I have tasted the maggots of the mind of the universe. And I was not offended. For I knew I had to rise above it all....or drown in my own SHIT!!!)

ANd I bid you all good night!

No doubt!

But,

He is not the only guitar God from years past...

Randy Bachman...'nuff said

http://video.google.com/videosearch?client=fi...

Seriously, click on the 3rd link down and watch Randy do lead licks with a drumstick, break a string, change guitars and then play guitar with a mic stand!

Tower of Power... What Is Hip? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t2g28y7_gM&fe...

Turn it loud!!

The Milk of Human Kindness

Featuring Robin Trower killing it on guitar. (Sorry, hard enough to find a lot of PH, let alone live vid.)

That has to be one of the greatest rocknroll tunes of all time.
So,

I cheated and I even stole( I think, I really can't remember)
but I went and saw these guys at the Long Beach Auditorium.
I have no idea where my seats were. I ended up on someones feet on the second row.
They were super nice about it. Didn't bother them at all.
Anyway, as the show went on, I ended up against the stage.
I remember leaning against the stage. I was the only one up there. Everyone else was still in their seats. For some reason, the bouncers didn't bounce me. I'll never figure that one out. I got lucky.
I was leaning against the stage when they played Good Morning Little School Girl.
(I gotta tell ya, this is taking alot to type this)
Anyway, I was standin there during this song, and I was all alone rockin with Alvin Lee. No one was charging the stage.
So, after awhile people start filling in and at the end of the song he throws me his guitar pick.
unbelievable
I jump up, at grab at it. It hits the palm of my hand. And flies out.
I look down, and there's at least 12 people all around my feet.
He looked at me and just shook his head.
But I was there. Good enough for me.

I remember Leo Lyons was blowing on his fingers at the end of the song.
I have to say, thank gawd for spell check.:)
Ga nite.
I'm toast.

And really just seeing Alvin Lee play had to be fantastic! Nice that the bouncers left you alone too... they're not always that nice. And you were definitely there my man! Thanks for sharing this... I know the typing takes some time, especially at night! :o)

But I can't be sure. It was a long time ago.
But it was one of the last shows that played at the LB auditorium before they took it down.
I think the last show ever played there was Savoy Brown then Manfred Man. and then Kiss. It was Kiss's first tour .
That one was a mind blower. No one had ever seen them before.
It blew my mind. That's for sure.

But hey, it was a long time ago.
OK I'm out hasta
be well folks.

And if I can find From the Beginning (I have so many favorite songs!) I'll listen to that and then head to bed... night!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUokMbJC3P8&fe...
absolutely a fav of mine...

Night! I'm off too...

Aaah, that's some fine music! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZZ96J_PVbk

Wisdom is better than silver and gold
I was hopeless now I'm on Hope road
Every man want to act like he's exempt
When him need to get down on his knees and repent
Can't slick talk on the day of judgement
Your movement's similar to a serpent
Tried to play straight, how your whole style bent?
Consequence is no coincidence
Hypocrites always want to play innocent
Always want to take it to the full out extent
Always want to make it seem like good intent
Never want to face it when it's time for punishment
I know that you don't wanna hear my opinion
But there come many paths and you must choose one
And if you don't change then the rain soon come
See you might win some but you just lost one

Now don't you understand man universal law
What you throw out comes back to you, star
Never underestimate those who you scar
Cause karma, karma, karma comes back to you hard
You can't hold God's people back that long
The chain of Shatan wasn't made that strongTrying to pretend like your word is your bond
But until you do right, all you do will go wrong
Now some might mistake this for just a simple song
And some don't know what they have 'til it's gone
Now even when you're gone you can still be reborn
And, from the night can arrive the sweet dawn
Now, some might listen and some might shun
And some may think that they've reached perfection
If you look closely you'll see what you've become
Cause you might win some but you just lost one

Please Lauryn Hill come back to us. Come on.

but it's no Yngwie's arpeggios from fake.

;>)

OMG

You just made my day. That's freakin' outstanding! Thanks

only the most overrated musician in the entire world.

...

Never met a Pentatonic scale he didnt like ...yawn.
His stuff was cool when I was nine I guess ...

...........
But this was truly Dog-Awful ...

That I like...when he was with Cream, and that other band...
Here's my thinkin on Clapton...if I'm gonna listen to blues...I'm gonna listen to REAL blues, not some Englishmans interpretation of it.

Observe.
real blues, by a REAL blues man.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzC_rGX-XyM

I have to agree with libNmod and the others. I generally like Clapton's music but that was not his finest moment.

There's no shortage of other fine tunes here though! Special thanks to Debber for many of them, especially Blue Collar. I love that song.

Don't tell me you didn't notice this is a joke. That's not Clapton playing -- it's an overdub.

but that was a pretty terrible shred.

How about sloppy and incoherent? I cringed . . . .

...and Vai: "Stevie's Spanking"

WOW

That is one awesome song, AP ... Zappa and Vai rool!

Thanx!

When I saw 'Shreds', I thought Frank!

Stanley Jordan ~ "Stairway to Heaven"

Joe Bonamassa ~ "A New Day Yesterday"

Folks -- PLEASE wake up!! This is not Eric Clapton playing!!! It's an overdub done as a joke. Search YouTube for: KISS SHREDS for an example.....

Up top. Below the header, under the Title, above the embed.
