C&L's Late Night Music Club with Barbara Dennerlein & Rhoda Scott

Title: Nova
Artist: Barbara Dennerlein & Rhoda Scott

From one Hammond Organ player to these compatriots, a lil' "off the beaten path" jazz vid...pretty cool.

Haven't heard Jazz B-3 in while.

These new organs sound almost as good as the real deal, without the lugging...
Great British organ man... check it...

You're actually only hearing one in this video - Ms. Dennerlein's. Rhoda Scott is playing an XB-3, which is a modern electronic approximation of a vintage tonewheel Hammond. Sounds remarkably close, with "close" being the operative word.

Yeah

Thanks for passing one on to us organ queers Mike! Great stuff!

.

Wow

These ladies are rippin it up.

with bare feet no less. Now that's "multitasking"

These ladies know how to rawk! Verra nice indeed.

Thank you, Mike!

Thanks Mike!

Is there some way you guys can figure out why vids no longer stream properly in IE7? They start and stop...Works fine in Fireox. Other people here have mentioned this too. Thanks...

From the second it starts to fade down until it is completed refreshing, it slows/stops my machine every time. It doesn't happen when C&L is minimized or when the videos are running full screen. Hope this helps.

That was right on time. Those are two jazzy ladies!

Have to link to Arcade Fire - Wake Up It's been stuck in my head all day. I would love to see this band live. Austin City Limits recently replayed their 2007 show with Arcade Fire. This song is great. It's about kids, how they're taught to hide their emotions and creativity, and how that shouldn't be.

Found out they did a new version of this song for the the upcoming movie "Where the Wild Things Are". Love that book and the movie looks like Labyrinth, with puppets instead of all CGI.

Berlin's Let's face the music and Dance sung but Nat Cole.

Just nice. I wish I could see and hear something like that in a club some night. Must be fun to play some music like that.

Nice to see you again ... Stormy Monday is a fave o'mine!

The Spaniels - Goodnight Sweetheart Yeah, it's doo wop, but listen to the guitar. Pretty tight stuff

And I raise you some Flamingos - I Only Have Eyes For You

Nice Smokey and the Miracles though. So, so smooth.

Going Out Of My Head

How's that?

But if you try to trump with Peppermint Twist, you have to know that Jimmy Gilmer - Sugar Shack is coming out.

And your Chris Montez can meet my Eddie Cochrane - Summertime Blues

Just following the progression. :D

Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames - Yeh Yeh

Now these ladies can come to my house and play my organ any day!

Now hold on, I didn’t mean it like that! Get your head out of the gutter!

New York State of Mind.
You are a very accomplished musician Mike.
You deserve the credit. And more.

Born under a Bad Sign.
dood, you been around!

Air

all I can think of is that ridiculous video for Sexy Boy with that monkey.

Merci.

Unbelievable.
And she's beautiful too.

ok I'm out. ga nite folks.
Be Well.

Before I got to see if you caught the Derby today....

But I heard about it.
memories. The first time i went to a horse race. I bet on the long shot.
It won.:)

Not just a longshot today....You know how all the major races get a wire-to-wire replay? Mine That Bird was so far back that they only showed the replay from the very end of the backstretch on. When they gave the first position-by-position rundown at the quarter pole, that horse was dead last, 7 or 8 lengths behind the closest horse. I was thinking, "Turn around and head back the other way." Absolutely shocking to see that horse squeeze past the two front-runners and win going away.

Fugue For Tinhorns

A little Against Me! Thrash Unreal (Acoustic) Always nice to see a guy always screams when he sings.... and does it in key.

Live Strangers

I'll be listening to these tunes in the morning ...

I spent my day gardening and sunbathing ... zeds pour moi.

gna :)

Did Bernie Chazelle move in or sumthin?

Jazz is to public masturbation as RocknRoll is to public mutual orgasm.

No doubt, the girls can play. Sadly, they just seem to want to play with themselves.

I prefer public mutual orgasm

sorry. I'd much rather see either of these girls on stage with David Gilmore or Robin Trower

The Hammond organ is the coolest instrument ever created, IMHO. Such a variety of sounds you can get from that instrument -awesome! Usually you see dudes playing the Hammond in jazz or rock bands - it great to see a couple of chicks who can make that instrument scream. Great vid!

That's exactly what my horse did.
Dead last. For almost 3/4 s of the way
Then it started moving. Ground Line was the horses name.
I think I was something like 7 or 8 years old.
That was the last time I went to the track. Haven't gone back since.
I'm not big on gambling. But I sure did have a wholelotta fun with that horse. I remember it like it was only ten years ago.:)
