Love the sounds of this...was this really only two people creating the sounds or were there musicians in the background?

Haven't listen to this kid in awhile. Here's something a little less melodic, but a whole lot more groovin'

Saw these guys on PBS last week, love the groove and stage show.

I hate it when that happens. But, thanks anyway, AGold!

I like the name of the band too.

These guys’ voices are as smooth as silk and the rhythm is in the groove. Way cool.

But when you said “We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things” I thought they were going to be a gypsy band! (Just a joke)

What a remarkably beautiful song. It's also fun when the audience can participate in singing it. Oy vay, indeed!

> Oy vay, indeed!

I don't know if the spelling Oy vay or Oye Vea is correct or not. Probably both are correct and incorrect since both are translations from another language.

Love you Calg!

as I had to hit the sack early.

(ps, I love you too, sweetie!)

:)

for the first three minutes; then it quickly became a snoozer. By 5:27, I was looking at my watch and thinking of other things. I turned it off at the 5:40 mark, glassy-eyed and bored. There's a lot to be said for 45's, in "the old days", that were only 2:30 long; you make your statement succinctly and then get off the damn stage. These guys are stage-wankers and their act would benefit from some good editing.

"It's you you you
It's me me me
It's all right/the same"

Congrats to Senator Al Franken 4 "Oil Of Oye Vea". :-) Oh that and for being elected to the Senate.

Jason Mraz is arguably the best song writer of the last 5 years. It's amazing that most of you guys have never heard of him. He is up there with Dylan, Marley, Paul Simon, and Tom Waits. I challenge you to listen to any of his albums and you will soon find out what a brilliant young man this is. Sadly, he only has a few singles that make the trash radio we are forced to listen to these days.

And to the comment about it being too long...this is a live show...what do you expect, a 2:30 min song live???? I'm sick of commercialized music that offers no substance, talent, or skill. Mraz is most likely improvising here at the end. And yes, it is just 2 people.

Check him out, you will not be disappointed, just like you won't in Ben Harper or Kelly Joe Phelps.

Jason Mraz is an *excellent* songwriter with an AMAZING voice. But don't be so quick to heave him up there onto the Dylan, Marley, Paul Simon and Waits musical Rushmore that you've constructed. Even if he was *inarguably* the best song writer of the last 5 years, and he's not while K. J. Phelps is working, as you *surely* must know, :) -- that wouldn't be enough. K.J.P. has a shot at it tho', eventually, even though he is sort of unknown to most but lap-slide players outside of the Portland to Seattle corridor.

I love this video version, and learned this song from it over Christmas break. I'm not hatin', I'm just sayin', my hyperbole detector just went *PING!*

I'm a regular to C&L and was blown away to find Jason Mraz featured. He is definitely the most under appreciated song writer on the scene today. I discovered him about 6 or 7 years ago, seen him in concert on 3 occasions and have devoured every note of music that he has put out. I would easily rank him as one of the best and I don't think he's even come close to reaching his full potential yet. Thanks for including him in your usually excellent selection of musicians and I have to echo the sentiments of ericthefool - check him out - you will not be disappointed.
