Ry plays unbelievable slide on this video clip from a live concert in 1987. He's got a great band, too. (Is that Howard Johnson on trombone?)
I'm pretty good at ID-ing guitar gear, but I can't figure out Ry's axe. YouTube commenters think it's an electric charangon (South American instrument), but they're wrong. The charango family of instruments has 10 strings (5 doubled), but this has twelve pegs.
If anyone out there can tell me about that guitar, please do. The rest of you - enjoy.
