If you are familiar with the LNMC, you know how much I revere Mr. Young. Here's a beautiful unreleased song from around 1981. Y'all have a good Saturday.

It's Neil Young's birthday today. Happy birthday, Neil. Here's one off of Greendale, a concept album recorded with his backing band, Crazy Horse, which has themes of political corruption, media consolidation, and environmentalism. He turns 68 today, so Young is getting pretty old.
Got any favorite backing bands?
My love for Neil Young is certainly no secret, and this is one of my all time favorites of his. Not many people have been so powerful with just a guitar and a voice, but there are some who are right up there with him. What is your favorite performance with one person using one instrument?
And PS: Our sister site Newstalgia has for its mid-week anti-road rage concert, some lovely chamber music for you.
Here's one from an all-time great. This one is from his first solo album, which is often overshadowed by its more popular follow-ups Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and After the Gold Rush. However, it was still a solid effort to kick off Young's highly successful solo career. While very few tracks from this album saw the light of day after his career took off, "The Loner" became a staple in his live set for many years to come. Here's a performance of the tune off of his seminal live album, Rust Never Sleeps.
What's your favorite Neil Young song?
PS. Our sister site Newstalgia has for its weekend concert offering Parliament-Funkadelic Live In Washington - 1978.
Neil Young's new Daniel Lanois produced record, Le Noise, is getting rave reviews. I do miss Crazy Horse, but I must say that the guitar tones on this record are spectacular and drive these songs perfectly.
I will never get tired of Neil Young. Who's music could you absolutely not do without?
Summer is officially here and a lot of us will be doing some travelling in the next few months. This song always gets me in the mood to hit the road. What's your favorite song about a city or place?
Got a favorite about getting away?
