The legal eagle do-gooder group Law Forward, tired of waiting for officials to take action against Wisconsin's fake electors, filed a lawsuit against Wisconsin's fake electors. They have agreed to a settlement in which they admit their misdeeds in exchange for dismissal from the lawsuit:

The lawsuit was filed against the fake electors by Democratic electors for President Joe Biden, which sought $2.4 million in damages. The fake electors said in a statement Wednesday that they met in the Wisconsin State Capitol to sign paperwork falsely claiming to be electors to be "in compliance with requests from the Trump campaign and Republican Party of Wisconsin."

As part of the settlement, the fake electors acknowledged that Biden won the state, withdrew their filings and agreed not to serve as presidential electors in the future or participate in the transmission of such documents again, among other terms. The defendants are also no longer facing paying damages.

However, the two TFG attorneys who oversaw the fake electors scheme in Wisconsin, Kenneth Chesebro and Jim Troupis, are still subject to the lawsuit and are scheduled to stand trial in September.

At first, many Wisconsinites were upset because it appeared that, while fake electors in other states are being investigated or have been indicted, the ones in Wisconsin were about to get off the hook without even a slap on the wrist.

But in an interesting twist, it is now being reported that Chesebro is cooperating with a "Wisconsin investigation." It is not known whether this means that Wisconsin Attorney General is doing ain investigation into the fake elector scheme, and he's playing his cards close to his chest:

In a statement, Department of Justice spokeswoman Gillian Drummond said the state DOJ "generally does not confirm or deny the existence of an investigation, except in unique public safety circumstances."

"Attorney General Kaul strongly believes that those who committed crimes in an effort to unlawfully subvert the outcome of an election should be held accountable," she said.

It just might be time to stock up on some extra popcorn.
