Why does American Idol hate America? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/05/american-idol-producer-we_n_105...
This is one of the most beautiful and moving songs I've ever seen performed in a quirky little independent film. I was awestruck in my heart by the poignant aura of the entire film and in particular the poignance in this duet.
Thanks for posting this, Nicole.
Well, now, that was a mighty fine song. Very enjoyable.
Beautiful video. It makes go back in time when I had some kind of faith in humanity. But that was a long time ago, and reality has set in. Bravo!

Thanks! Great pick. I can't hear this song without thinking of the movie. I was really happy to see this win the Oscar, the only recognition for a great little indie made for about 100 grand.
Thanks for posting this. It is a lovely song from a very touching movie. I,too, am glad this won the oscar. A sweet gem of an indie film.
I love how this song combines solid structure and poignant emotion; it tickles both head and heart.
Loved this movie, too, and I was happy that they made the right choice for the Oscar. Considering Disney had...I don't know...ten songs from the same movie nominated, I was surprised that "If you want me" didn't also get a nomination. IMHO, it is one of the best scenes in the last few years.
If you haven´t seen the movie ONCE, do yourself a major favor and rent it today. It starts off as something simple but by the end you feel both invigorated and devasted. Its pure truth is the incredibly refreshing antidote to Hollywood artificiality.
It is a truly revolutionary movie in the best sense of the word. You don´t feel it creep up on you. At some stage you realize you have strongly identified with and have fallen for the style of storytelling, the visuals, the credibility of it all, the actors and the glorious music. Thank you SO much for posting this. Personally this soundtrack (all the songs are phenomenal) has kept me afloat through a lot of difficult times this year, given me hope and restored my faith in humanity - not bad from a micro-budgeted movie.
With the Patriot act the conservative's turned their soul over to George, Dick, and the CIA. What kind of a stupid act is that??

I just saw the Swell Season perform last week in Hamburg, Germany. It was awesome.
I loved - LOVED - this movie. Saw it for the first time last December, bought the DVD and soundtrack, watched it a dozen more times. So simple and smart. Why can't we do this in the U.S.
A great story with great music. I spent years playing and recording and Carney got it just right.
I'm sure most of you know that Glen Hansard played a significant role in one of my favorite music films of all time.
