Bad version -- takes all the skeevy urgency out of it. Jonesing is not a bouncy feeling.
It's weird; I see Lou Reed around town every couple years. I saw him at Film Forum a few weeks ago. Always dressed low-key, unassuming. I leave him alone, not just because NYC politeness requires, but also because I figure, what would I say to him? It's just Lou Reed... . And then I realize: He's a rock 'n' roll god. Gods walk the streets of NYC.

Agreed. This version sucks. Love the original though.
I love the Velvet Underground, but I hope folks new to the band don't hear this lifeless version first. Also, it's a bit jarring to see two of the world's most famous "ex-gays" on stage together. Tom Robinson fell in love with a woman with much more class.
Didn't even check to see which tune they were playing. Just clicked it. Any chance to see Bowie and Reed play together is a treat. Two massive R&R icons.
Saw Bowie do his "Ziggy Stardust" show live... many , many moons ago. God.. one of the most sureal and wonderful rock shows I think I have ever seen. David Bowie was quite the entertainer back in his day. Ground control to Major Tom....

Lousy sound quality.
BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG... EVER!
The Velvet Underground version is weak, very one note- tish, this version is BRILLIANT. The Bowie influence heps quite a bit.
