In this case, there's a pretty noticeable difference between Michael Jackson's version and Tame Impala's. It's still fairly downtempo, but Tame Impala makes it feel a little more lively compared to the original by adding many of their signature psychedelic soundscapes to their version. It's pretty interesting to say the least, plus it presents a fresh take on a song that had a unique sound in the first place.
