C&L's Late Night Music Club With The Brian Setzer Orchestra

I had the pleasure of catching Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats opening for Stevie Ray Vaughn shortly before Stevie's untimely death in 1990. Stevie Ray stole the show, but Brian was every bit his equal that night. The Cats put on one hell of a show and Setzer wailed like a man on fire.

This live version of 'Switch Blade 327' isn't the greatest quality, but the music and vibe comes through loud and clear.

More music tonight at our sister site Newstalgia: The Cribs with Johnny Marr live at The Limelight in Belfast, 2004.

much for me. That said, this is probably my favorite song from him/Stray Cats.

the guy is a flippin freak of nature on guitar.
love his tone through the vintage Fender Bassman amps.

Yeah, he is. Very talented.

Wow

Fantastic song!

Just what I needed to hear tonight, Logan! Thank you.

country singer? I've heard the name before, but I thought it was a guy.

Oh, she's singing now--how wretched! Let me hit mute while I just look at her...

I think she's Kanye West's mistress.

My woody feels a lot less guilty...

is she the one kanye west punkd at the awards thingy? I have no idea who 90% of people are on the celeb mags anymore. And when I saw Madonna with Faye Dunaway's face, I didn't recognise her, either. How sad. She was very good looking before the plastic surgery crap. Now she looks like a Plastic Man...

...

and

it's fashionable!

And the Kinks...

Found, eliminated Trojan.Small (level 10) yesterday. Gracias!

(bowing in honor...)

as though you've dumped 20 gigs of porn or so?

Much better; got rid of the damn unresponsive scripts that were plaguing me last couple of months.

I sent the link to my mom and her husband too. They were installing tonight. Not sure I want to know what kind of porn they've got on their computer...

and now, after a big download session, you can scan for stds

Probably should scan it too...

Fastfeat, do you think you could post the link here. I think I could use Adaware. Thanks

The guy championed those big fat Gretsch guitars when NOBODY else would be caught dead with one ...
Try a short and sweet Sleepwalk ..? ...good nite America!

for those great tunes. Much appreciated!

Rocks balls. Nuff said...

...revived a bunch ob Big Band classics. At that time in the late 80's early 90's, there was a revival of sorts and a lot of bands jumped on the Swing bandwagon, with jitterbug dancers and all. I loved it, as that's always been my favorite jazz era anyway (and I play lots of head charts from then!)

That's what I love about the guy. ... almost singlehandidly revived rockabilly, and then swing - what a feat. True cool never dies, it lives on in guys like him, trends come and go, but pure rock and roll will never be out of fashion, ever...

I think in some ways, he may have been seen as a gimmick act ...when he was really paying tibute to his idols ...Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent
and he ALWAYS acknowledged them ...always... maybe people couldn't get past the tatoos and dyed hair ...who knows? this guy has Talent ...always has. Just look at how those early Stray Cats songs just JUMPED out of the TV ..!

Eddie Cochran
Death

On Saturday, April 16, 1960, at about 11:50 p.m., while on tour in the United Kingdom, 21-year-old Cochran died in a traffic accident in a taxi (a Ford Consul, not, as widely quoted, a London Hackney carriage) traveling through Chippenham, Wiltshire, on the A4. The taxi crashed into a lamp post on Rowden Hill, where a plaque now commemorates the event (no other car was involved). Cochran was thrown through the windscreen, suffered severe head injuries, and was taken to St. Martin's Hospital, Bath, but died at 4:10 p.m. the following day.[2] Songwriter Sharon Sheeley and singer Gene Vincent survived the crash, Vincent sustaining injuries that would shorten his career and affect him for the rest of his life.

The taxi driver, George Martin, was convicted of dangerous driving, fined £50, disqualified from driving for 15 years, and sent to prison for six months.[4]

The car and other items from the crash were impounded at the local police station until a coroners' inquest could be held. At that time, David Harman, better known as Dave Dee of the band Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, was a police cadet at the station. He taught himself to play guitar on Cochran's impounded Gretsch.[5] Coincidentally, earlier in the tour, the same guitar had been carried to the car for Cochran by a young fan called Mark Feld, later to become famous as Marc Bolan of T.Rex and who, in a further coincidence, was also killed while a passenger in a single-car automobile accident.

Eddie Cochran is interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, California.[6] A posthumous album, My Way, was released in 1964.

It's kinda weird that Marc Bolan never learned to drive because of his phobia about automobiles and accidents, yet he died in a car crash.

..its always better to learn how, and do it yourself ...
(kind of like playing guitar ;-)

Another oddball album from the Martians of Oklahoma. How nice.

Try Rootkit Revealer and see if you can eliminate the rootkit/s the creep left behind.

I use my computer for business clerical--not financial--and have found as many as 3 keyloggers in one day on it. Financial theft may be a new and growing full-time job for the recession-impaired.
