C&L's Late Night Music Club With Michael Hedges

Guitarist Michael Hedges died nearly 12 years ago in an automobile accident near San Francisco. It was reported that he was returning home after visiting his girlfriend over the Thanksgiving holiday, so I thought this might be a good time to remember his amazing work. I am thankful for the beautiful art that he was gracious enough to share with the us while he was here.

Too bad George Benson and Michael Hedges never worked together.

But I've been looking for this recording for so long. I thought I might have been too high and That I might have just thought I listened to it.
Anyway, I think this is the best compilation of Jimi's work.
ga night all. be well.

A visiting American friend introduced me to the Breakfast in the Field album just after it came out. I was living in the UK at the time (early 1980's). After moving to the SF area, I missed the chance to see Michael play live before he died.

The video reminded me of Trey Gunn, defining his own musical language and a very physical presence while playing. Here is the Trey Gunn band - Kuma

Take care on the roads over Thanksgiving...

Play Rosenberg at the cemetery if you really want to get the vote out! He can revive pulses long deceased and dormant. Great post!

Thanks for posting this fantastic song. I love the video!

Maybe '96?
Alas, I've lost the KVMR Live tape, he had just come from Harbin Hot Springs on his motorcycle, played a song he wrote about Harbin, also played Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground"

The story I heard about his demise is that he crashed his motorcycle off of Hwy 128 near the Coast Hwy, the redwood jungle off the side of the road there is so dense that no one knew he was there. Very sad end.
