C&L's Late Night Music Club with The Brought Low

Need I say more?" He should've added that the best Southern rock band is from Queens, NY, not exactly Alabama. The Brought Low's three excellent albums seamlessly bridge the gap between Skynyrd and Queens of the Stone Age. If you see that they're playing at a dive bar near you, bring five dollars for cheap beer and some earplugs. They're loud and they're great.

another generational anecdote -
driving/riding in the car, listening to They Might Be Giants, i hear this song and say "i know that song! ... JESSICA!" , and he says "NO!" - as in, 'you CAN'T know my songs', ya know?
but i pulled out my old album when we got home and there it was! ... he likes TMBG version better, natch!
it's fun though, knowing the influence that MY music had, HAS, on theirs...
was THE album ...(and my guitar teacher) when it was cool (and I was 14 ...)

am i just showing my age, and possibly ignorance, when i tell my son, 30 now, a fan from beginning, that i hear the Beatles? ... beatle-esque?... beatle influence? i've always wondered if and what others here thought about that...
i'm definitely a beatles fan, beatles music lover... when i first heard radiohead early on, i heard the beatles...
and enjoyed it... we are a musical family - i dont play myself, but my parents and children (ha! 30 & 25) do, so there's lots of tastes and genres involved, mostly enjoyable!
LNMC is a good educational resource also... expanding my universe...
it's more like reliving my youth! ha!

...JD says Steve's a pretty nice guy. Kind of a nerd. I don't think they know smarmy in Big Rapids (which is where Ferris State U is located, and where they shot that episode, when JD and Steve were back in MI for, iirc, Thanksgiving).

Did you post something about how great that Brought Low song is?
Used to see them all the time when I lived in NYC. Played with them a few times too. Top notch band and great guys. Cool to see them posted here!
Good song, seems like a good band, but they would have to personally deliver an autographed copy before I could justify spending $99 for ***one*** CD....
