C&L's Late Night Music Club With Devo

This Devo two-fer from 1980 is a hoot! Girl U Want is by far the strongest of the two songs, Devo at their best. Please forgive the video quality and the occasional audio glitch.

I always felt that Devo was more influential than they really got credit for. They have been honored by plenty of bands -- Nirvana, Soundgarden, Sepultura and Pearl Jam, just to name a few.

Title: Mongoloid

Like Motley Crue, The Pixies, Aerosmith and seemingly everyone else these days, the legendary Devo will be hitting the road playing Are We Not Men and Freedom of Choice in their entirety.

Devo to Release First New Album in 19 Years

Title: Whip It/Uncontrollable Urge
Artist: Devo

"De-evolution has finally arrived... and who better to guide us through the mess than Devo?"

That's the rhetorical question posed in the press release touting the release of the first new album from Devo -- Akron, Ohio's third most popular export (just behind tires and Alcoholics Anonymous).

Founders Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale round out the lineup with their younger brothers both named Bob and the one-man drum monopoly that is Josh Freese. There is no title or release date set for the new album.

Devo, and seemingly everyone else in the world, will be playing next week at SXSW in Austin.
