John informed me that the very talented singer had passed, so tonight's Music Club will be dedicated to him and his work. Here's a cover that he did as a part of The Manhattan Transfer, Weather Report's "Birdland." RIP, Tim.

What are you listening to tonight?

John Amato:

I was fortunate enough to play a benefit concert with Mike Finnegan and David Garfield at the end of May with Tim as the guest star and it was an awesome experience. He was a lovely, talented and humble man whose legacy will live on forever.

Mike Finnegan via Facebook:

Tim Hauser was a friend of mine for almost 40 years. I was fortunate enough to record with he and Manhattan Transfer on a few occasions. More importantly, Tim and his family lived across the street from us for more than a decade. Our children grew up together, and when we were both in town, Tim and I saw each other almost every day. Even after those years, Tim and I continued to see each other regularly, and we had the rare opportunity to do a show together last May. He certainly left a great musical legacy. No one will miss him more than his family, but a lot of the rest of us will miss him, too.

Can you help us out?
