With his Bechet-like vibrato, Bilk was able to take this song to the top of the Billboard Charts back in '62. In fact, he's the first British artist to do so after the U.S. adopted the consolidated Billboard Hot 100 chart system. Such a feat opened up the then-new chart to many British artists who would go on to top it after him. R.I.P. Acker.
