If you've ever been on hold, chances are you've heard this song. That's mainly because Cisco is a popular provider of corporate phone systems and uses this piece as its default hold music. You see, it all started back in the early '90s when a 16-year-old named Tim Carleton composed this music and laid it down on a four-track recorder. After being forgotten about for nearly a decade, his friend Darrick Deel went to work for Cisco and asked Tim if he wanted his recording to be the default hold music for Cisco's phone systems. Tim said yes and the rest is history. So, next time you get that all-too-familiar hold music, at least you now know who to blame for your misery.

What are you listening to tonight?
