The Nightly Show's Larry Wilmore gave his audience a little recap of the Republicans on their worst behavior and their embarrassment of an excuse for a hearing by the House Oversight Committee -- where the chair Jason Chaffetz badgered Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards while refusing to let her answer questions -- and where wingnut TN Rep. Jimmy Duncan basically called Richards a criminal, while pretending that giving more money to the Boys & Girls Club is somehow a solution to providing reproductive health care for women in the United States.

Wilmore did a nice job when he wrapped things up of explaining what most of us here already know, and what this witch hunt dressed up as a Congressional hearing is really all about.

WILMORE: Now look, all this grandstanding and overacting isn't about getting rid of Planned Parenthood. It's about getting rid of abortion, a legal and protected right according to the Supreme Court of the United States. So short of hiring armed guards to stand outside of women's vaginas... there's not much anti-abortion activists can do.

But as long as abortions are happening, and they are happening, don't we want to make sure women have a safe place to have them?

Sadly, I think the answer from most "conservatives" is "No." I also think that as long as Republicans consider Planned Parenthood a "political slush fund," as that witch Carly Fiorina called them (never mind all of the hundreds of thousands of "political slush funds" on their side if this is how you define them) they'll consider getting rid of Planned Parenthood a bonus as well.
