Sure, many of people have cover this song through the years. Many think (around here at least from what I learned last night) the original was done by Ronnie Hawkins & the Hawks.
Well, Young Jessie has a song writing credit for it and released a version in 1955. It wasn't the first version I ever heard of it but have been listening to it for many years. The folks I was conversing with told me I was wrong. Google set them straight though.
