Gab, the Twitter and Facebook alternative social media site, may be going down after a glaring spotlight was shown on it following the horrific mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue on Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday.

A little history on Gab: It was created in August of 2016 as a platform where people who had been banned from Twitter could congregate and spew the hate speech that had gotten them kicked off more mainstream platforms. Some of Gab's more prominent alt-Right users include Ricky Vaughn, Milo Yiannopoulos and Richard B. Spencer. Oh and Robert Bowers, the White Nationalist who murdered 11 people and injured 3 others at the synagogue shooting on Saturday.

Hours after his vile posts were brought to light (we will not post them here because we do not feel like giving his hateful views oxygen is necessary), Paypal banned Gab from it's platform because they reviewed the account and found that it engaged in the "perpetuation of hate, violence or discriminatory intolerance". The Daily Beast is also reporting that Gab's hosting provider is pulling its services. Gab tweeted

Joyent, their hosting services, has determined that Gab breached their terms of service. Now Gab is whining that they "will likely be down for weeks because of this."

Thoughts and prayers, Gab.
