Fox Business host Cheryl Casone feigned compassion for the migrants Texas Gov. Greg Abbott used as pawns for a Christmas Eve stunt that could easily have left them freezing to death.

As C&L previously reported, Abbott engaged in a Christmas Eve stunt of busing dozens of migrants to Washington, D.C. where they were dropped off in 13-degree or colder weather, without winter clothes, in front of Vice President Kamala Harris’ house.

It’s beyond cruel, very un-Christ-like, and does nothing to solve the immigration problem. But if you’re Fox News, you celebrate it.

On Wednesday’s Outnumbered show, cohost Cheryl Casone, of the Fox Business Network, pretended to have some humanitarian concern. Using Fox News coverage of cruelty at the border as "proof" of her humaneness, she said, “We’ve seen kids tossed over those walls. Do you remember that? We’ve been covering this for two years.”

Then she praised Abbott’s defense as “so cool,” first because he didn’t respond to the Biden administration’s criticism.

But the worst part was Casone claiming that Abbott’s stunt was a good and kind deed. “First off, you know, they chose to go to Washington, D.C.,” she said. “They signed waivers in multiple languages.”

None of the four cohosts questioned just how willing or informed those consents were.

“They wanted to go and all of a sudden the left is screaming,” Casone sneered.

Fox has spent much of 2022 screaming about crime in blue cities. But Casone and Fox seem to have forgotten all about that. She now said the migrants are “going to, hopefully, a better life in sanctuary cities.”

Cohost Lisa Boothe chimed in to suggest that the really good news is that Abbott had owned the libs. Too bad she couldn’t tell the truth at the same time. Referring to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ stunt of flying migrants to Martha’s Vineyard and then dumping them there, Boothe said, “all the liberals were like, pace, love, coexist. And then when [the migrants] came, they’re like, “OK, cool, you know, you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.”

In reality, the Martha’s Vineyard migrants received an outpouring of support. Because they arrived at the beginning of the cold season, when there would be few jobs or housing, they were moved to a military base with better resources off the island.

So who’s really waging a war on Christmas?
