Dr. Jacquelyn Starer, a medical doctor, was arrested and charged today for participating in the January 6 insurrection and striking a police officer:

Dr. Jacquelyn Starer, 68, of Ashland, is charged by criminal complaint, filed in the District of Columbia, with civil disorder, a felony; assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; and engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds.

According to court documents, on Jan. 6, 2021, Starer illegally entered Capitol grounds and the building through the East Rotunda doors.

Video from body-worn cameras worn by Metropolitan Police Department officers shows Starer approach MPD officers and make contact with an MPD officer at approximately 2:59 p.m. Shortly thereafter, Starer struck an officer, officials allege.

Starer also went blabbing to anyone and everyone how she prepared to go a-rioting by getting a knife-proof mesh shirt and cans of pepper spray, showing that this was not an impulsive, random event.

And almost as quickly as news got out of her arrest and charges, her employer declared her to be no longer an "active" caregiver at the hospital she used to work at.

It's almost a little sad that she threw her career and reputation and forsook her Hippocratic Oath just because of the ramblings of a few power-hungry mad men.
