One of the happiest days in my family's lives was the day we took our first sleep in our own home. No more creepy neighbors. No more neglectful landlords. And blowing the snow or cutting the grass isn't so bad when you're doing it for yourself. Oh, sure, owning your own house can be a money pit, but it still beats living at the mercy of others. Of course, when you own, you run the danger of HOAs, but that's a whole other story.
