Sen. Mitt Romney appeared on Meet the Press on Sunday and, like the rest of us, is still waiting for that evidence Republicans promised us to impeach President Joe Biden. The Utah Republican doesn't appear impressed with the concerted effort by his party to impeach Biden. And let's face it -- Republicans only want to impeach Biden because Trump was impeached. They are children.

"As you know, House Republicans have signaled that they may vote as early as this week on an impeachment inquiry into President Biden even though they haven't shown yet a direct link between Hunter Biden's business dealings and President Biden," host Kristen Welker said. "Have you seen any evidence that President Biden has committed high crimes and misdemeanors?"

"I don't see any evidence of that at all," Romney said. "I think before you begin an impeachment inquiry, you ought to have some evidence, some inclination that there's been wrongdoing. And so far, there's nothing of that nature that's been provided."

"So, are you opposed to the impeachment inquiry?" Welker asked Romney.

"Well, if I were in the house, I'd vote against it unless they were able to bring forward evidence that suggests that there, there were a high crime or misdemeanor that have been committed," he continued. "But so far, that hasn't been the case."

"Look, look, fortunately, for most people, we're not responsible for the misdeeds of our kids and grandkids and great-grandkids," he said. Nothing in my family. I'm embarrassed about but, but, but, President Trump's, excuse me, President Biden's son."

"Hunter is obviously been a very unsavory person and has had some extremely, damaging personal foibles including a drug habit and so forth," he said. "That's not President Biden."

"And we're not gonna impeach someone because of the sins of their kids," he added.

Romney did have a slip of the tongue when talking about Biden's son Hunter, and this is a good time for me to mention that while I think they are both massive douches (one is far worse than the other, though), one of the sons has taken responsibility for his actions and sobered up. The other has not. And if they want us to connect politicians with their children's behavior, we can do the same with Junior and his father of the year, Donald J. Trump.

Republicans need to shut up as they feign empathy over the scourge of Fentanyl while they further stigmatize drug addicts. Fuck them. Fuck them very much.
