I don't normally kink-shame people, but Sen. Tim Scott seemed to enjoy being publicly humiliated by Donald J. Trump. It was so bad that the Internet cringed when Scott professed his love for the man facing 91 felonies. Scott was onstage celebrating Lumpy's underperformance, which brought him to a narrower victory than expected over Nikki Haley in the New Hampshire primary. This, of course, happened after Trump took a swipe at Haley's dress. He's such a bitter man.
During Haley's time as Governor of South Carolina in 2012, she appointed Scott, a member of Congress at the time, to his Senate seat to replace Sen. Jim DeMint, who was retiring. Trump brought that up for no explainable reason except to perhaps twist a knife in Scott's back.
"Did you ever think that she actually appointed you, Tim?" Trump asked Scott. "And you're the senator of her state. She endorsed me."
"You must really hate her," Trump added.
"I just love you," Scott said after nudging his way to stand next to Trump.
"That's why he's a great politician!" Trump said.
I do not understand why Trump said, "She endorsed me." But I don't understand many things about that rancid pile of feces. It must be just another one of Trump's senior moments.
The Internet had a few things to say.
How embarrassing for Scott to watch a slob onstage publicly embarrass him while nodding his head as if to say, "More of that, please." Pull yourself together, Tim. Haley put you in the Senate, so at least tell Lumpy that you don't "hate" the woman. That's the least he could do. The GOP really is a steaming pile of shit these days. I don't know if it can recover from getting Trump's stench all over them.
