Here is the story, as we know it currently. Police are currently conducting an investigation into an incident involving Lauren Boebert and her ex-husband after he called the police to report that she hit him.
On Saturday night, the 3-year anniversary of the Jan 6th insurrection, Boebert and her ex were at a restaurant in her district in Colorado. Her ex called the police to report that he was a victim of domestic violence, although Boebert denies that anything happened.
The Daily Beast is reporting that Jayson Boebert stated that "his ex-wife had “punched” him in the face multiple times. " He also stated that there are witnesses to the event. Jayson Boebert is 6'3" and Lauren Boebert is about 5 feet tall.
Boebert denies the allegations, telling The Daily Beast: “This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I’m moving. I didn’t punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options.”
Yeah, that is not why you are trying to get elected in a district all the way across the state, sweetie. But, ok. Let's go with that lie.
The local police in Silt would not comment other than to "confirm an “active investigation” into the alleged events."
Following the incident, her ex seemed to backtrack in order to protect her reputation (ha). He told The Daily Beast on Sunday: “I made a mistake. We both overreacted. I only want what’s best for [the] boys and I still love her very much. We both share some hurt deep down inside ... It seems we just keep pushing each other further apart. I want the best for her. It’s probably just best that I remain silent.”
