Louisiana’s newly-seated attorney general, Liz Murrill, got the Lauren Windsor/Undercurrent treatment last weekend. A liberal activist posing as a right-winger got Murrill to admit on video what she probably never would have said had she known the questioner’s true politics.

The unidentified questioner never lied to Murrill. He just left her with the impression he’s staunchly anti-abortion. At a recent Right to Life gala in New Orleans, he congratulated her, said it was “so very nice” to meet her, asked her how she feels and whether she’s “ready to get to work.” (Note: the video says the event was held on January 13, 2023, but it was in 2024)

Then he asked, “Are we going to be able to do what Texas is doing in terms of life?”

“I think we continue to lead,” Murrill said. “We have great legislators and Right to Life is always writing great legislation. So, yes.”

The questioner pressed for more, asking if “they’re going to be able to write something that criminalizes abortion?”

“I don’t know,” Murrill replied. “I think that’s kind of hard.”

“Come on!” the questioner persisted. “We’re Louisiana. Can’t we do it, though?”

“We’ll try,” Murrill began.

The questioner cut her off. “You’re gonna try? I mean, shouldn’t we be able to put doctors in jail for abortion?” he pushed.

“Well, I think we do, we [can] do that now,” Murrill said.
