Christina Bobb, an attorney for former President Donald Trump, doesn't want voters "thinking he's got all these legal problems."

During a Sunday interview on Newsmax, Bobb was asked if Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows should be punished after she declared Trump ineligible for the ballot because he participated in an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.

"I think an impeachment is a good start," Bobb suggested. "However, I would encourage the attorney general or the district attorneys in Maine to take a closer look at this and possibly investigate her for abuse of authority, abuse of power, and election interference, because this no doubtedly is election interference."

According to Bobb, Bellows should be punished for election interference even if Trump's name appears on the ballot.

"By putting out all of this propaganda, this narrative that Trump isn't going to be eligible," she continued, "trying to instill fear in the voters that, oh, maybe I shouldn't vote for him because maybe he won't, you know, maybe I shouldn't follow him because he won't be on the ballot."

Bobb then suggested the former president's supporters should not view Trump's four indictments and multiple lawsuits as evidence of serious legal problems.

"They're trying to discourage people from supporting Donald Trump, thinking he's got all these legal problems," she scoffed. "That is election interference, and she needs to be held accountable for it."
