UAW President Shawn Fain blasted former President Donald Trump on Sunday over his poor record on supporting unions.

During an interview on Face the Nation, host Margaret Brennan reported that the Teamsters reportedly met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago home.

"Do you anticipate that this other union will go a different direction and choose Mr. Trump?" Brennan asked.

"I can't fathom any union would support Donald Trump for president," Fain said. "Let's be real, and let's look at facts."

"Donald Trump, in his own words, when he had his reality TV show, The Apprentice, and when he was president, when he was in the White House, he had two favorite words. You're fired," he continued. "And he cycled through White House staff like toilet paper."

Fain recalled that Trump had blamed workers for the 2008 recession.

"Joe Biden bet on the American worker," Fain explained. "Joe Biden, in 2008, he stood with the UAW. He stood with working-class people in that recession. And they gave us a pathway forward."

"When he has been president, he stood with us," he remarked.
