Donald Trump continues to try to delay the start of his first criminal trial - what is being called the "Hush Money Trial" related to payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels. In the last few days, Trump tried to change venue, sued the judge and filed an appeal to delay the start of the trial pending a decision to challenge the gag order.

The appeals court has made it clear that barring a natural disaster, Donald Trump will be officially on trial in New York criminal court. New York Associate Justice Cynthia Kern flat out denied the stay just immediately after hearing arguments on the matter Tuesday. The full appeals court will consider the petition, but that will not slow down the start of the trial, which was Trump's main goal.

Barring a hurricane/tornado/alien invasion/Trump firing his entire legal team as a last minute stunt (not totally impossible), what will happen?

Well, jury selection will begin next Monday, April 15th. Trump is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records over the secret hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels right before the 2016 election. The witness list is a made-for-tv movie casting directors dream - Michael Cohen (aka The Fixer), Stormy Daniels (the Porn Star) and Hope Hicks (the Beautiful and Loyal Aide). Let's not forget Trump and his army of smarmy lawyers. D.A. Bragg and the handsome Judge Merchan.

I can already see the casting for the TV movie.
