President Joe Biden is coming to Madison, Wisconsin on Monday to announce a new student debt relief program.

Of course, the Republicans are not very happy about this, and not just because they're opposed to helping people who are not wealthy donors. But instead of their usual attack that such programs are inherently unfair, they have decided to try a new tactic. They're trying to claim that Biden is only going to Madison because he's losing his own base. Wisconsin GOP Chair Brian Schimming went on air and said as much:

Look, Joe Biden has got a problem with his own base. Think about this, Joe and Amanda: He is coming to Wisconsin this Monday. Where is he going? Is he going to someplace where there's a lot of undecideds? Is he going to someplace up in the Fox Valley near Green Bay where it's a swing area of the state? No. Joe Biden is coming to Madison, Wisconsin.

I'm like the only Republican you two know that actually lives near Madison, and you know, the "Berkeley of the Midwest." He keeps having to come to his own base to shore up his base. A four year president, he shouldn't have to do that.

But here he's coming to Madison, Wisconsin, where I am right now, which is 70, 80, you know, to 20 liberal, and he has to come back.

And I said to the reporters after the rally with President Trump, 'Look, he's got problems with young people. He's got problems in the African-American community. He's certainly got problems among the Latino vote.' This is a guy who A) has base problems and B) overall, has an enthusiasm gap that is benefitting Republicans into the double digits. So he's got a lot of trouble and it shows by his travel schedule.

To add to this bunch of bullshit, the GOP's Xitter post added that 11% of Dane County Democrats voted "uninstructed" or for Dean Phillips.

Talk about lies of omission!

First of all, Madison is the home of the University of Wisconsin, the biggest school in the state. That's why Biden is going there to announce a student debt relief program. Why in the world would he go to the heart of Republican territory where they just announced campus closings?

Secondly, you want to talk about problems? Tuesday was Wisconsin's presidential primary. Trump was in Green Bay that same day for a rally. Despite this, more than 20% of the Republicans voted for "uninstructed" or one of the other candidates who had already dropped out long ago.

Overall, Biden had more than 35,000 total votes than Trump did. Exactly where is that enthusiasm gap again?

Of course, one should not expect too much truth telling or integrity from Schimming, since he was named in the Georgia indictments against Trump. The documents state that Schimming met with both Kenneth Chesebro and Rudy Guiliani to discuss the fake elector scheme, which Schimming was fully on board with.

The saddest part of it all is not that Schimming would lie so blatantly. After all, he is a Republican and that is what Republicans do. No, the really sad part is that the Party is keeping him on as their chair, despite knowing how dirty he is. But then again, this is what they do. Just look at who their presumptive nominee is.
