Libya - now it's their turn in the shark tank.

With events moving as fast as they did only a week earlier with Egypt, Libya and the brutal regime of Muammar Gaddafi are now coming under the gaze of the rest of the world as waves of peaceful protests are met with hostile repression. Only this time it's different and the protests are growing in speed and intensity.

How it ends at this point is anyone's guess. But for the moment it's moving fast and gaining ground. Here is a re-cap of news via the BBC from both their African Service and the World Service from the morning of February 21st to this afternoon (as of 2:00 pm PST), February 23rd.

Included are reports on the ground as well as insights from Libya watchers around the world as well as excerpts of Gaddafi's somewhat strange and hysterical address of last night.

It's interesting that no one has brought into question Gaddafi's sanity - that his strange and erratic behavior are almost his trademarks. But his sheer hysteria must beg a few raised eyebrows here and there.

Or maybe this is normal?

In any event, it's going on now and more is surely to be revealed in the coming hours and days.
