The Shoes - Indie/Alt/Experimental with a guilty pleasure of Pop.

Not to be confused with the American late 70's quasi-New Wave band of the same name, these Shoes are French with close ties to the Brighton area of the UK and are good at what they do.

Not together for very long, they are coming out with their debut album (Crack My Bones) almost any minute now. But in the meantime, tonight's track is off the new album and there is something shamelessly Pop about it. Time To Dance is one of those turbo-charged upbeat dance tracks that probably has more in common with early Giorgio Moroder or Abba than anything Alternative (which it's being billed as). Nevertheless, it's a thoroughly enjoyable tune that has Weekend written all over it.

I know it's a little early for that, but might as well jump the gun and get started early, right?

In any case, check out their website and see what they're up to. I don't think they are headed to the States anytime soon, but they're doing a lot of gigs throughout Europe this summer. So maybe . . . .
