C&L's Late Nite Music Club with The Swell Season
I did an LNMC last year featuring Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and their Academy Award-winning song from the movie, Once.
Hansard (late of The Frames) and Irglova have formed a new band, The Swell Season, and their album, Strict Joy, was released in October of this year.
Here they are singing an acoustic version of Feeling the Pull and a studio version of Low Rising, both from Strict Joy.

You're The One That I Want
Don't know why, but this was in my head today. Figure.

And now it's in my head!

(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song
This was stuck in my head too, and no amount of figuring will satisfy the ages-old question, "Why?"

When they were in Houston this weekend, I totally ran into them at the Menil Collection! Nobody I was with knew who they were (lame), but I had such a fangirl moment anyway.
It was great!
Going to see them next week here in Vancouver. Their song "Leave" is the best breakup song ever!

Here's their live season from October at KCRW in LA.
He comes across as totally domineering, she's a bit little piece harmony to his grandness.
The final product leaves a lot to love.
This is NOT good music. It's not good duet harmony, it's not even good music.
Oh, I said that.
today: "Jubilee Train => Do Rei Mi => New Promised Land". Unfortunately, no mention of the date, venue or band line-up, and that nothing close on Youtube. If anyone has heard this, please LMK.
Thanks.

The Frames haven't actually broken up or anything. Last I saw, they played along with The Swell Season on tour.
...I had one-tenth the talent of Glen or his (beautiful) partner.
Yes, I have a crush on her.
The intensity of emotion they can convey sometimes stuns me into silent amazement.
